Municipal associations 'stand firmly' with Algoma Steel's laid off workers

Why is everyone so surprised by this news. Algoma announced that there would be layoffs one the new ARC furnace was on line. This one is not 100% contributed to the US tariffs. The government should have not given the 500 million to Algoma and instead should have set up a fund to help affected workers directly. I'm sure that the 500 million will be giving some of the brass some nice bonuses.

Maybe now the city can fix our roads which are disgraceful, instead of using it to fund stupid projects like the downtown plaza or the total waste of money for the new turning lane on Second line and Goulais Ave.

And he is a politician wannabe! he has no concept of a working man/woman real struggles. His government Doug Ford is costing Ontarians and Canada as a whole. Ford would rather throw away millions of American liquor that has already been bought and paid for rather than sell it off and help people. His idea for privatizing hospitals is going to make health care for low and medium income families unattainable. Canada would be in a much much better off with or PP or Ford!

Wish the city would stop wasting money downtown. Until they deal with the elephant in the room the rampant drug problem in the Sault and all that comes with it any money spent downtown is wasted. If citizens and stores don’t feel safe any money spent is wasted. Use the money for improving other streets and infrastructure that are years past there life cycle.

This is funny, I lost my doctor when Group Health dropped me and anytime I call the clinic on East Street for an appointment they always say they are full for the day. How can that be possible when I call at 8:00 am if you cannot prebook appointments.

Downtown should be offices only. Most of the empty buildings need to be torn down due to the condition they are in. Truth of the matter is that most people feel unsafe downtown including the merchants which keep their doors locked during business hours and customers need to be let in. Move all the retail and restaurants to Great Northern Rd where there is more parking and greater opportunity.

It’s funny that there were extra charges this year because of the amount of snowfall, yet if we are going by amounts why didn’t they issue refunds last year when the only did driveways like 3 times. This is no way to run an honest business. I too was never presented a contract just an invoice for payment.

Access clinic is a joke you can call right at 8am and they say they are full. You can’t make appointments and some of the Group Health services are not accessible to clinic patients.

If you bought your house 10 months ago and were offered 100k more than you paid don’t tell me you wouldn’t sell. Any person who says they wouldn’t take the profit and sell is a lair. Wise business decision on the sellers part. Same old for the cities decisions wasting tax payers dollars before they even have a plan.

Doug Ford needs to go he says he is looking out for Canada but just undid any progress the liberals accomplished in trade talks. What has Doug Ford really accomplished for us? Despite promising to balance the budget, the provincial debt has grown significantly under his government, reaching 452 billion and making Ontario one of the most indebted sub-national governments in the world. With all this we still have folks saying they want a PC government, Doug Ford and Pierre Poilievre are one in the same what have either of them accomplished to help Canada?

How about worrying about what the city can control, this is a provincial problem. I say crack down on all the dealers in this city that are providing the poison. Stop using dealers as informants and ignoring that they are dealers and start arresting them.
