it's not like the Manor did it on purpose - mechanical equipment fails sometimes, its an unfortunate situation but sounds like the people in charge dealt with it promptly. and just because she saw "no management on site", doesn't mean they weren't doing anything.
@Kay Rein - it is NOT part of everyone's culture and tradition. and in fact, it is not necessary -and in my opinion, just cruel. i doubt very much that leaving an animal to suffer while is it trapped in a snare is a "good" relationship.
cops go for naps during their shifts, and if you think otherwise, you're delusional.so, Firecracker888 - your house is on fire and they aren't ready to go, because, why should they be if they're not being paid to be at work. so, they need time to get ready - call them in, get to the hall to get the pumpers and get to your burning house - which would probably ash on the ground - then complain that they weren't ready to save your burning house. but... they should be paid per call, right?. *eyeroll*the firefighting bashing in this city is ridiculous and annoying, and needs to stop.
as i recall during last years fire ban, the burn barrel at the Marina encampment was lit every night with people around it - so, apparently the fire ban doesn't apply.
its really annoying all these comments i have read saying "you might have a problem if you can't wait to have a beer". or something along those lines. um no - just because people enjoy having a beer or a glass of wine or whatever while they watch a concert or a game does NOT mean they have a problem. what is wrong with enjoying a drink while enjoying your favourite band or sports team? i certainly do, and no, i absolutely do not have a problem.
there is an Esso on Walsh and a couple weeks ago was at 1.48 in the morning, and by early afternoon that day (maybe 5 hours later) it was up the 1.65. crazy how it can jump that much in one day! i expect the same will happen soon!
@wearsplaid - yes naps, been told BY COPS that they do, in fact, find dark parking lots to take these naps - laugh all you want, it happens. I'm aware that they have beds in firehalls - if, for example, you were told by your job that you had to work 24 hours straight without getting any rest, would you? probably not. what is the problem with them, FIRE, COPS or PARAMEDICS, getting rest so they can do their jobs effectively? get lost.
they've already done that at the old Prospect School site - a well known sliding hill for kids in that area - right at the bottom of the "toilet bowl", there is a metal pole for a disc golf basket.
now THIS is an ignorant comment. PS. not everyone in Thunder Bay is born into a "silver spoon" household or "handed a car dealership" - we have to work for what we have.if it so mediocre for you and you clearly think you're above everyone here, then you are more than welcome to leave!
