I agree the Y is a good organization. I just have an issue where 500,000 of tax payer money being spent on it. 2800 members is only about 3% of the Soo's population and 4500 is about 6%. A lot of mlney being spent on a small percentage of the population.
We need to start contacting the council and telling them. We need to remind them that they work for us and start listening to their constituents. That is the way a democracy is supposed to work.
Tipping is supposed to reflect the service you received. I don't count having to order at a counter and then esit for my food before sitting. When i go to a restaurant i sit and someone comes and takes my order, brings my food, comes and check if everthing is ok - often more than once, brings the terminal to the table for me to pay. To me that is service and what I am tipping for.
Exactly lots of talk. They have been talking since this started about removing the trade barriers between the provinces. Quit talking and do it. They have been dealing with the cheap steel from China for decades. Just ban it period. Problem solved.
Yep. None of the above. With the drugs these people are on they need to be removed from access to it for an extended period of time, up to a year. That means secure facilities with treatment.
The issue is that in many cases of addiction unless there is something in place to break the cycle the majority are not going to get better. I interact with people who are in recovery from sever addiction and they all say the same thing, if they don't have a period of time without drugs they don't have the capacity to make the decision to quit. The addiction overrides everything inluding even eating. So in many caeses the only option is forced treatment but the problem is we don't have the facilities to do it.
So the city wants to give money to private businesses again. I have a couple of issues with this.First, this assumes that we construction companies that don't have work. I would think that if that was the case then they would already be building or they wouldn't be in business. So all we are doing is shifting their work from one project to another so they can get the free money.Second, the city needs to deal with the vacant housing problem first. I understand they have started that process but get it going first before they start something else.
This is a waste. They have been trying this for years. Bottom line is that people have said that if they win they don't want to travel all the way to the Sault, that they want to go to Toronto. What is there in the Sault for someone is from a bigger city that just won 10 million dollars.
Maybe they should look at wages. Look at the sunshine list. Algoma University has 129 people on that list. They have associate professors making $200,000 a year. Sault College as 139.
I have always thought what they paid for consulting fees was way out of wack. If they are going to be spending large amounts of money then the breakdown should be made public.
