POLL: Younger readers happier with Donald Trump's win

Amazing that somebody who's entire campaign was about lower taxes, safe communities, properly regulated immigration, and especially ending all the wars could cause people to be afraid they will raise taxes, make it less safe, and reinstate the draft for....Al the wars that won't exist? Sorry I just keep getting confused lately. Maybe if people actually listened to the republican agenda rather than putting their fingers in their ears and screaming every time they hear Trump's name, they could figure it out. I'm not hopeful.

Funny how it's only Canada and China Beijing hit like this. Maybe it's because we and China were the only countries to slap retaliatory tariffs on the states, and the only ones to get the reciprocal tariffs while EVERY other country got a 90 day reprieve to negotiate. Maybe, and I know this sounds crazy, we should have just negotiated instead of retaliating and getting just what Trump said we would get.So many people would just destroy our own country because they have TDS.

As someone who regularly drives the North Bay to Kirkland Lake route for my employer, I can attest to the terrible driving exhibited by truck drivers these days.I've had trucks tailgate me because I'm only doing 95 in a 90, pass at the very end of passing lanes forcing me(and others I've witnessed) to the shoulder, pass me on blind hills and corners l, lose wheels, have no tail lights and many other things. The MTO needs to triple their presence on highway 11.

Another poll where the cross reference question almost all paint a negative image of the conservative respondents. From this we can deduce that people who don't watch the Olympics are mostly conservative smokers and drinkers with tattoos who are not proud of Canada and supported the Freedom Convoy. Nice way to tie all that together with a seemingly innocuous poll. Just like the Trillium stories that all attack Ford but in the final couple of paragraphs we discover Ford didn't actually do anything wrong Wait til the next one comes out and watch for it.

So they are spending hundreds of millions for a new service that's slower and more expensive than the bus and travels parallel to the highway so no different scenery even. Our tax dollars at work.

I cannot for the life of me understand how people could think that keeping addicts addicted would help anybody. My congratulations to all the families whose loved ones will come back to life because of this decision. Why would anyone want to perpetuate this system that keeps addicts addicted on purpose?

Yet again an article where the focus is on making the conservatives look bad but in the last couple paragraphs we learn that this type of bot thing is a Chinese invention. Who do the Chinese support?

So the solution to problems caused by homeless people is to punish the legit users of the walkway. Why not just post no loitering signs and prosecute those who loiter? Yeah I know too easy.

Funny how convenience and grocery workers have dealt for decades with underage people trying to buy cigarettes, and with drunk people all the time. I've lived in a couple of countries that have alcohol, including liquor right on the grocery shelves. Twenty years running video security in those stores in fact. Theft was the only problem, and that is easily dealt with by putting things out of reach.

This is the state we have reached?!? The police issuing statements to protect the thieves and threaten the victims??? I hope the city of Waterloo does the right thing and fires their police chief immediately. Complex investigation to find a stolen bike? Many resources needed? It sounds like he's smoking better meth than the thieves. Sheesh.

So once we do all the math, what you're telling us is that the councillor overcharged the city a total of $60 in two years. That doesn't even amount to the amount she saved the city by bringing a senior along and getting the discount on the rooms I can totally see the comparison with this case and that of the mayor. She scored a good discount for the city but spent maybe a quarter of that savings on food, while he bought cigarettes and dog food to the tune of 16 grand and only paid up when he was caught.

Yeah it would be awful for the city to fix its own road in its own property and then maybe allow housing to be built in a city that really really needs it that is also surrounded by about a trillion trees.

Attempting to punish a councillor for opposing a motion that passed. How much money was wasted on this idiocy? There is an obvious pattern here of misbehaviour in order to force Castle Arms to merge with Casselholme.

If city council does not deny the ski hill funds without public financial statements or even a plan to become sustainable, then it is my duty as a citizen of North Bay to deny them my vote come election time.

Meanwhile my kids who are Canadian citizens can't find an entry level job at all. Our entire family has been on the waiting list for a doctor for years. On top of that close to $25,000 given to families immigrating here, while my family (all Canadian citizens) got our last months deposit covered when we returned to Canada. Think about that.

I remember a similar story just a few months ago about the federal government wanting to provide internet access to the far north. The plan involves Canada starting their own satellite internet system at a cost of hundreds of billions of dollars. Fiber optic lines would also cost billions to run in remote communities. So now saner minds have said, "Gee why don't we just sign up for Starlink and save a hundred billion?". Shooting ourselves in the foot and wasting billions just because we don't like the owner of a companies' politics? Complaining about making the rich richer didn't seem to matter when planning to give ten times as much to Trudeau's buddy to run the same service

I would translate that as "why would you let the public know we aren't doing anything!?". Just another example of the awful leadership in this city. North Bay has loads of potential but is smothered by an unending succession of bad decisionmakers.

So... A press release that cancels what looked to be an honest attempt at transparency and doesn't even give a hint at what was wrong with the meeting that was erased? Is the school board now competing with North Bay city council for the lack of transparency award this year?Legitimate questions about the debacle that is going on in Parry Sound just swept under the rug?Nothing to see here folks, just move along. Why do we keep electing clowns?

Schools no longer teach morals, values or discipline so what should we expect? Even the schools with so called uniforms allow skirts bordering on nudity. My kids spent their high school years telling stories daily about drug use, drinking, overdoses and fights with nobody ever held accountable. Teachers will say it isn't their job to police kids behaviour. If we as parents are trusting you with our child, we expect a safe learning environment and proper discipline for misbehaviour. school is where bad behaviour is learned these days. Teaching things like self control, ethics, moral conduct and discipline should be a large part of the curriculum. How about teaching how to do your taxes, getting a driver's licence or dealing with stress?
