50+ years of playing & watching hockey, I’ve never seen a spectacle like that. That was the absolute worst display of officiating I have ever seen. Kudos to the coaches & players for mostly keeping their cool in such a one sided officiating debacle. Shame on those fans who could not control their emotions & aided the refs in their biased decision making. These are kids playing their hearts out & throwing debris on the ice because you’re frustrated…grow up & own your emotions, you achieved nothing, but ensured a Penticton victory. As for the referees, I hope that the WHL takes a long hard look at Bourdain & Love, the two referees, & disciplines or suspends them, especially Bourdain, he clearly lost his temper & let it affect his on ice decision making. Cougars, go get them in Penticton & bring it home to win the series!!!!

Yes you can do your own electrical work but if it is not on a permit & signed off by a Red Seal Certified Electrician you could be potentially voiding your home insurance if said repairs/upgrades go wrong, ie: fire. Same with gas fitting.

Not sure what game or replay you watched but it was a clean hit, Evers own visor cut him when he landed face first on the ice. As for your comment on another thread about the Cougars playing dirty & injuring players all season, again what team or games are you watching? Provide evidence because all season other teams have been running Carels & Paracek because they are 2 of the top Cougars, Carels was out for 2 of the games against Spokane from a cheap shot, Yakutsenak the same. If Foster got a 2 game suspension the Diego Johnson also should have got the same for his cheap hit on Funk. Hockey at this level is rough especially in the playoffs, always has been probably always will be.

“With a national debt in the trillions and a national deficit of almost 2 trillion, Trump is restoring fiscal order”. In Trump’s first term he had the largest increase in US federal debt ever & is on track to beat that. Debt & deficit in federal govt. terms are vastly different. The US is in debt over 33 trillion dollars, their deficit is around 2 trillion. If he wants to decrease that, he needs to raise taxes across the board, equally. Trade deficit is a completely different beast, Canada is way down the list of trade partners that the US has a trade deficit, around 40 billion. Trump is a failed businessman, multiple times over. He doesn’t have the financial acumen to manage a hotdog stand let alone the largest economy in the world…for now. “Trump who with Musk is cleaning up government agencies”. Uh, yeah, no. Musk is gutting federal agencies like the FCC & EPA that he sees as impediments to his foolish rocket dreams meanwhile fleecing the US taxpayers hundreds of billions.

So, the ESS are telling exhausted, emotionally distraught people to hit the road, no place to stay in PG. Because? Last I checked Albertans are Canadians, PG is no where near stretched thin with other emergencies. Turning physically & emotionally compromisedpersons loose on the highway with a long drive ahead of them…yeah, that’s a great idea.

I believe former Cougars goalie Ty Young also plays for Abbotsford.
“home to the coldest lousiest ski hill anywhere in western North America.” You’ve quite obviously never ski’d most “anywhere in western North America.” Hudson’s Bay Mountain is not perfect but is still a fairly decent mid size ski hill, good terrain options, fairly reliable snow quality & a gateway to some amazing side/backcountry skiing. As for living in Smithers, Terrace or Telkwa? Personal decision I guess, not for you, but I know quite a few people from that area that absolutely love it. Endless outdoor activities, friendly residents, home to some of the best sport fishing in the world. Smithers has one of the highest number of PhD’s per capita in BC, looks like some pretty smart people want to live there, must be something that attracts them to that area.
BC Chemicals has been shut down for some time & has not been BC Chemicals even longer, PG Pulp is mostly mothballed. United Initiators (formerly FMC & PeroxyChem) was built where it is because of proximity to the pulp mills, curious though, how is that plant is lumped in with the others? The manufacture of Hydrogen Peroxide is far more environmentally friendly than those other industries & this plant in particular has always operated at a fraction of it’s allowable emissions with zero waste going to our watershed (chemicals used in the process are reclaimed, treated & reused). All that aside, most of those industries were built over 60 years ago & they are located there because of prevailing wind/weather patterns, proximity to water sources & at the time, distance from PG.

Dead set against this for multiple reasons. However, our anger is a little misplaced. Previous Mayor’s & councils deserve some of the blame for this as well. Infrastructure in most of North America has been falling apart for a long time, sort of the red headed stepchild of government priorities, ignored until it becomes an issue. All across our continent are stories of water/sewer systems failing, roads crumbling & other infrastructure issues. Politicians are loathe to broach the “T” word as it is a form of political suicide. Instead they come up with these desperate measures to save face, thinking we won’t see it for what Art correctly surmised, a tax. Unfortunately we are going to bear the cost of something that should have started to be addressed decades ago.
