"5G cellular communications cause COVID-19 and were designed as a genocidal weapon." This person was a school trustee? Non- ionizing radiation emitting by cells haven't been proven to be a health threat. Towers emit more radiation but there are regulations covering it. COVID-19 is a disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It is in the family of corona viruses. The only thing potentially genocidal about a cell tower and cell phone is easy access to online nonsense and to others with the shared beliefs.
It is rather unfortunate that actions do not come with consequences. Any parent knows that approach is doomed to failure. Provide treatment and shelter options BUT if you chose to violate the rights of others by breaking the law, then you should be in jail.
Ironic, the antivaxxers are going to tout this as some sort of victory. The ONLY recommendation by the Supreme Court was to reassess positions where the healthcare person works 100% remotely. All of the other Anti-vax arguments in this case were shot down.(No pun intended)
Is anyone surprised? Looks like the BC Greens will be the king makers. The odds of them siding with Rustad and the rest of the "deniers" are slim to none. Pick your denial:of Children's rightsof LGBTQ rights of climate scienceof vaccine science/safetyof woman's reproductive rightsof First Nations rights(Probably more..... but hey, they'll get to spend the next 4 years complaining while in official opposition)
Looks like @BGeez doesn't understand demographics. Boomers are a huge cohort. Young boomers are early 60's. The rest stretch to their 80's. That are group consumes a massive amount of health care.More demographic information. The average age of nurses is around 44. Many are retiring. Many young nurses burn out and leave.Taxpayers don't pay for union activity. Union dues and members paying out of their own pockets cover costs of traveling and staying in Vancouver. Many see nursing as a poor career choice. One works long hours with insufficient staff. Dealing with suffering and death is difficult. Entry to practice is a 4 year degree. There are plenty of well paying degree jobs that draw prospective students away. The pandemic and anti-maskers, antivaxxers, and deniers took their toll.
@alt center"They fired nurses and doctors that would not take the experimental drugs"The number was 3 - 4 % of staff. Three quarters were casual or part-time. Even less were actual frontline nursing or medical staff. Immigration has zero to do with it. Boomers yes. Immigration No. It appears that knowledge or facts are not a requirement in the comment section.
I'm not surprised by the comments. Disappointed... Yes. Surprised... No... Mental health and addictions are a big problem. Locking them up doesn't change the fact that both problems exist in a society and will continue to exist.Healthcare for mental illness is severely lacking. There are laws in place that cover holding a person deemed a danger to themselves or others. "Ohh, they are scary"..... isn't justification for incarceration. If a person is involved in criminal activities and are found to be compos mentis, they should be processed through the criminal justice system. Someone "of unsound mind" and a danger should be treated via the mental health system. There are some that should be detained for extended periods due to a persistent pathological condition. I doubt those are common.Addiction alone, is a separate issue. "Lock em up" is a slippery slope.
"We have to pivot the economy" Okay, to what? Social Services and Social Assistance? How do you attract multi-billion dollar industrial investments to the region? What industries do you attract?"Hopefully we can put our heads together". Yeah, that's worked out fabulously for street crime and downtown revitalization. Do or not do. There is no try. Or more simply, pizz or get off the pot.
The Canadian national average is 2.27 per 100,000. The gun crazy USA is 6.3 per 100,000. We are at 10 per 100,000 (8 per 80,000)Are any of these 8 victims "normies" or are they known to police i.e. involved in organized crime?Regardless, we are over 4x higher than national average. The Municipality is fretting over renovating the downtown with fancy buildings, how about the basics, make our city safe.
@BGeez - What is the average time off allowed by union contracts before a sick note is required? What is the average fee a Doctor charges for a sick note which requires a Doctor's office visit?Where is your clear and unequivocal evidence of rampant sick time abuse by the public sector?Where is your clear and unequivocal evidence that proves paid and unpaid sick days are abused by the most unproductive and disruptive employees?
@Alt Center @HeeHaw Odd, all the big studies I've seen say vaccines are safe. A review of 100 million people found: 7 cases of encephalomyelitis. 2 cases is normal in the same sample size.28 cases of death from myocarditis especially with repeat dosing. This was 6x higher than normal. Guillain-Barre syndrome was 190 versus a normal 76. Overall, the study found vaccines are safe. Other vaccines carry similar risks. There isn't a medication on the market that does not have risks. Over the counter medications kill people. That doesn't stop people from using Advil or Tylenol.
@HeeHaw - What's "turbo cancer"? Please provide evidence. It never ceases to amaze me. The antivaxxers list their alleged evidence and in doing so undermine any shred of legitimacy. Freedom versus freedumb.
