@BCracer the article says that the trailers at the new site will be equipped with a sprinkler system, not that the one that destroyed necessarily had one.
That is not "using land", it's a mental health issue. How many of those vehicles have contaminated the soil I wonder. The regional district is just making the burden of stewardship his responsibility vs the next poor land owner.
Cash is dirty, a pain to count, transport to and from the bank. Everyone who is pro-cash obviously has never had to actually work with it. Don’t worry, the arena will survive without your $5 bill.
Hilarious how so many boomers are against the NDP spending money when it's their aging that's causing us to insure these costs. They didn't have to worry about looking after their parents and kids at the same time, because of their lack of foresight WE are now forced to do catch ourselves up.
Is this a joke?I don't know what's worse. Getting fired over $60 or taking it to court and having 6 days of evidence and arguments over $60. This is the reason actual criminals have to wait so long for their trials and inevitably go free.
They said the were seeing decreased foot traffic but we stopped taking our deposits there because they were always understaffed and/or closed due to lack of staffing.
I don't know if any new city structure should be built until the city formalizes Maintenance Management Plans ( MMPs) and Asset Management Plans ( AMPs). 35 year plans should be readily available for everything.
I believe that people had been voting for the BC "Liberals" for years thinking they were voting against the conservatives. When the Liberals changed their name the voters began to realize they were never really voting for a "liberal" party to begin with and that's when they started voting in favour of the NDP as the only true non-conservative option. ( other than green which has mostly been considered throwing your vote away in the central/northern region)
It’s disappointing to see Councillor Sampson pushing to cut library funding when public libraries aren’t meant to make money , they’re meant to make a difference. Libraries aim for social return on investment (ROI) rather than financial profit. Studies in Canada show that every $1 invested in a public library returns $4–6 in community value — through literacy support, digital access, job-seeking help, and safe public spaces. So yes, libraries usually operate at a financial deficit , but their community and educational value is the real measure of success. Cutting that investment isn’t “saving money,” it’s shortchanging the people who rely on these services most.
Backed up to Bellamy this morning. The issue with only instruction motorists to use "Foothills" is that they were still trying to cut across North Nechako to take Cameron Street Bridge instead of actually using the Foothills Bridge.
