Most of our city council should be have their wages suspended with aiding in misappropriate spending of our city taxes! We should thank these people who stand up and question the reasoning of how our contributions are dispersed.
@ BB K,Are you joking, people were killed and Trump tried to have his vice president assassinated at the same time as he endorsed a raid of the people on the white-house because he legitimately lost the election and claimed otherwise. Kinda sad really!
What makes me laugh about dictator Trump is as he says they need nothing from Canada why then does he so much desire for us to be their 51st state? I believe most Canadians can see through that ruse, unlike The Americans did not see USA becoming a lawless state after blindly unanimously voting him in power once again!
I live about a mile north of the airport and can find no reason to complain. It would be like buying a house next to a railroad track and complaining of the noise from the trains.
Although a nice concept I really think it's time to concentrate and address the matters at hand before moving forward, spending big money only creating more issues to contend with...just saying.
Although there has been local fallout health issues and I personally was employed there and suffer from personal residual issues at my choice to work there for 42 years at this facility. It has employed thousands of people in our community since 1901 with a fair and decent wage. There have been lawyers, doctors and every where between been able to afford education to obtain their goal whether it be from their parents as employees or summer jobs for the up and coming from Algoma Steel and not having to leave our city . I truly believe Sault Ste. Marie would not exist as is today without Algoma Steel. Please do not cut your nose off to spite your face. Things have and will continue to improve as time permits...just my thought and feelings.
Yes totally awesome! Why would anyone even consider tearing up one the the best paved roads in the city that lies south of the Station mall where people can sit in there vehicle, view the river and watch all these vintage automobiles pass by, to build an expensive short seasoned venue that would eliminate this opportunity. There are also unfortunate people that do use the existing fishing platforms that would not enjoy this pastime otherwise. Again just another logical thought on my part. I'm sure many may disagree.
Let's spend a million plus on radar bots and not hire more law enforcement officers that can't be covered in plastic, spray painted, or knocked over without consequence. This is a very major waste of job opportunities and tax dollars once again...the circus continues!
Perhaps we should not complain about how are tax revenue is spent. Heck we were in fact only the 7th highest city taxpayers in Ontario last year. Yes...sarcasm most definitely intended.
Trying to forge ahead with yet another dumb costly idea. Our mayor has stated our roads are nothing but a bottomless money pit to repair. It seems to me there is no bottom to the pit we like to call Queenstown. Totally unbelievable!
It's Peoples road turn, it's Allens side road's turn, it's Black road's turn, it's Base line west's turn...the list is endless. Come on just let it go mayor. Use the money more wisely until more proper funding is available. Start representing the majority of people that voted you in. Hats off to Mr. Kinach for having some back bone once again! Good luck in the next election.
Yes they should repair/replace that bridge! It does not affect me in any way but I think it's disgraceful that it was not repaired a long time ago. Once again too much tax money spent by city hall on some costly, needless, self serving legacy projects.
I am a senior and just today got a call from Dr.s office to tell me my referral for hand surgery was denied as there is no plastic surgeons available. Not to mention I only have a Dr. for five more weeks. Pathetic state of affairs in this city!
Time for the cobbler to step down! The taxpayers in this city have gone from 7th highest tax rate to 3rd in Ontario over the last 2 years. To put things in perspective Toronto is the number 1 lowest. It seems to me whimsical inappropriate spending of our tax dollars has got us there. Do we need to be to become #1 highest just to get our disgraceful automobile destroying streets repaired properly once and for all? I do believe most anyone who has to travel across town daily or otherwise cannot dispute that fact!..just saying
