Chippewa county voted overwhelmingly for Trump, so yeah, they can live with their decisions.

Chippewa county voted overwhelmingly for Trump. Canadian retailers need our dollars, not Soo, Mi or beyond. Until the trumper-tantrums end, I wouldn't feel safe being over there at all. I genuinely wouldn't put anything past him at this point.

But the Cons will lie straight to your face every single time and then blame you "for hearing it wrong" when they're caught. 😑

How about no. These bike lanes are a disaster. For what? 60-75 days of actual good weather biking days? My work doesn't offer shower and changing facilities, I'll never be able to bike to work. I used to, 20 years ago and survived w/o bike lanes.

I am no tin-foil wearing conspiracist by any means and I found the questions a bit much also. They were very intrusive. Why do they need to know my employer, job title, list of job duties and the weekly hours of work I have? They have my T4, they know where I work. That's all they need to know.

You're WRONGAs a direct result of American tariffs, the Canadian government responded. So it feeds back to one man, Trump.Every sensible person knows what a tariff is, we know we pay it if our government imposes one but trump doesn't seem to understand that the people of the US are paying HIS tariffs. Our retaliatory ones are making US goods more expensive, buy Canadian, Mexican, Guatemalan etc if you don't want to pay anything extra in taxes (tariffs are just another tax rate).

No one wanted another election. Period. Well, maybe PewPew did, but he already got his second go-round for a 'victory' lap.

I've got a ResQ hammer in my purse. I'll smash that window before 911 has time to connect thru. Don't care about charges or fines, I'm sure some crowd funding campaign would help offset those. Your window is not my concern...

And still no mention of the EAF transition. Politicians politicizing again. Cherry pick and continue to exclude the reasoning. Not saying the Trumpertantrum helped, it no doubt sped up the process but the EAF transition was always going to result in job losses! We've known this for a while. 😑

Waste Force is local, Canadian and the owner doesn't have a multi-million $ super yacht that costs half a million just to fuel up. Choose local! And as local as you can get!

I wouldn't say that. The fact that this lowlife purchased it for pennies and then turned it into an eyesore and bilked our tax dollars for hundreds of times more than they EVER spent on it...? Some of my other comments had to be deleted, they went against "community guidelines" yet, I'm sure everyone who read them would have agreed. A spade is a spade...

And she has multiple associations with many actual local businesses and food processors. She can't get everything local, who around here makes cooking oil? Any companies here making takeout containers? Saran wrap distributors anyone? The point was, Flanagan's is Canadian, local enough when compared to GFS' "Canadian" division, just a child under its American flag.

Blame the OHIP/Health Care problem on Ford all you want but this disaster has been decades in the making...

Exactly what I suggested a few months ago, nice!

I've read the article a few times, still trying to figure out what happened here and who's crying in their cornflakes over what, a request and a subsequent rebuke of the request being ignored? Is that what they're talking about? Or was it the comment "let consultants do all the work"? Was that because those cushy dream jobs in city hall were being threatened? Annnnd why exactly did this city spend $11 million dollars on consultants...? Was that the no-no comment? Anyone?I'm not even clear about WHO he was talking about. Actual city staff or other city counsellors? This article wasn't very clear about certain things. You'd think with a hot topic issue of broken code of conduct/integrity/ethics, it would have been crystal clear about the circumstances

Then buy Canadian. That's the whole point of tariffs. If they can outsource materials cheaper, they will. Canadian buildings should be built with Canadian steel, keeping jobs in Canada. You'd think being from SSM you'd understand this. This brings the cost of Chinese steel more in line with the Canadian steel prices.

Don't bother submitting a proposal. Someone's croney has the deal sealed already, we just get to wait and find out who gets to pay nothing for this beautiful property.

It's like the city does this so they can shirk the responsibility of getting everything cleaned up until the last minute. They'll scrape nothing off GNR 7 times today while side neighbourhoods continue to get buried. It means they'll plow your road at some point in the next 36-48 hours but don't call them when your windrow is 3m's wide and frozen solid, waist deep.

You mean crashes happen at intersections where there never was a traffic light to begin with!?! Shocker...But someone will still complain and say it absolutely MUST be because they took the light out at some of the previous intersections...

~ continued from original comment Responding, addressing and moving forward from these challenges is what defines us as a 'great place to live and grow' and I believe that city management needs to take a harder look at the societal problems before they go and do things like build a plaza.I realize the City of SSM is NOT in the business of health care and building social housing but the towns and cities we live in are MORE than just the roadways, parks and sewers. We need things to do and (for example) a plaza downtown was NOT the answer, with the few shops and eateries, it really is just a glorified strip mall.
