72Kids don’t need iPhones. If a parent needs to contact their child at school can’t they call the office? Especially in the elementary grades, 1-8. It’s ridiculous to hand a child an iPhone, you’re giving them access to a world full of creeps and walking away. They haven’t developed the awareness of the dangers and consequences of putting themselves out there on the internet. Protect their innocence as long as you can by not giving them an iPhone. If you need to be in contact with them as they start to go out with friends in their early teens, just give them a flip phone so they can call you. Perhaps when they turn 16 and start to drive this would be a good time to give them an iPhone, to be helpful with directions and locations.

I remember about 25 years ago when our kids were wee ones we headed out in the afternoon to Goulais for a family Christmas dinner and plowing through about 2 feet of fluffy new snow on the way home in the evening!
