It’s fair to say winter weather has been a factor in many collisions,' police saidIt's also fair to say that reduced traffic lanes and poorly plowed and salted/sanded streets and intersections also play a BIG role

@ssmguy1Just so you know of requirements to retire from ASCHe may have started at 18 or olderWorked 30 Years and is now 48 or olderSo 48 (age) +30 (service) = 78Can not retire with a full pension without a age + service factor of 85.So before you make comments, make sure you have all your facts.ASC is not Public service jobs where 30 and out is the norm.

The Northern Ontario School of Medicine’s will be able to double enrolment to its Medical Doctor programPresently students from all go Ontario, all of Canada and international students compete for spots in NOSM.As with every other Medical school in Canada, once they graduate they apply and MATCH for residencies in all of Canada and also USA. Once done their residencies they apply for jobs. There is NO MANDATE to practice in Northern Ontario no matter if they went to NOSM or not.You can add a thousand spaces but if there is no requirement for those individuals to stay and practice in the North, this is all for naught.

Since when do School buses get that close to the curb? They normally are close to the center line of the road so when they extend the arm they protect the students. This makes no sense whatsoever. Now if it were the garbage truck complaining - maybe it could be understood.

Wasn't it this SAME council that a few years ago was pushing to have some sort of lockable small garage units in the downtown for bikers to put their bikes inFlogging a dead horse -most people are fearful to leave anything where our downtown transients can steal or damage. The main reason that our downtown is a ghost town.Council spends more $$ than necessary to try to revitalize an area that few use. Stores open late and close early and

What school zone are the bollards on Queen from Boundary to Millwood protecting? The only things on that stretch are the Sewage treatment plant on one side and the Storage unit complex on the other. While they may slow down traffic t hey are not protecting any school zone. Engineering or Traffic department failed on this one.

While this sounds like an instrument to prevent theft, it is little more than hollow words.Pretty sure that those who are stealing vehicles are not worried whether their license, insurance and ownership is up to date!!!Real jail time, not catch and release is the only thing that may slow down the amount of thefts.Catch and release Thieves love it

You have a better chance of being accosted by pan handlers and the like than you do of getting hit by a vehicle while enjoying your lunch at a sidewalk café.Why do you think RBC moved from Queen ? Tell me that lack of customers coming downtown due to the state its in had nothing to do with it..How many cars, trucks etc. have ended up on the sidewalk in the last year, 5 years or 10 years. You have a better chance of getting run over by the entitled bike crew who refuse to drive on the street and use the sidewalks.

Weed killers containing Glyphosate are illegal for personal use in Ontario for cosmetic use. Any commercial home use weed killer DOES NOT contain glyphosate but has gluten or iron as it base to kill weeds." it's illegal to use glyphosate-based products like Roundup to control weeds on lawns, gardens, patios, driveways, and other similar areas for purely aesthetic purposes."

Opening a school in the North will not ensure that graduates stay in the north to practice any more than students in any other province stay in their area upon graduationThis only ensures that students get educated in the north - nothing more. Any graduate of NOSM for example MUST follow the match setup to find a residency spot country wide and then after serving can and do apply anywhere they can.

Where is the standard map and dates that this happens EVERY year???

Algoma Steel does not have the capability to make rails needed for a railway!

It is not just simply change from one to the other.Feed stock - the type of raw material is the issueThe process is different as wellThe primary difference in feedstock for newsprint and toilet paper lies in the requirement for strength versus softness, and the need for purity, with newsprint relying on mechanical pulp (including groundwood) for structure, while toilet paper often uses virgin kraft pulp or high-quality recycled pulp for softness and absorbency.

This would be a good deal for the Korean company IF ASI were to make say 500K tons of beams at todays selling price of $2300 USD per ton and the Koreans get 3% of net profit then they will see around $34 million USD per year for 10 years. They will get their money backNot a bad deal for them either.Potentially a win / win situation

@CitizenSooSome research :Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) can produce high-quality, military-grade armor plate. EAF technology is well-suited for this, as it allows for the precise control of alloy composition and, when combined with rapid quenching systems, creates superior hardness and toughness necessary for ballistic protection. EAFs produce high-grade steels, including those required for armor, such as MIL-A-46100 (high hardness armor) and MIL-A-12560 (rolled homogenous armor), which are used in armored vehicles and to protect against projectiles.Companies like Algoma Steel and other major steel producers use this method to provide certified, ballistic-tested armor to military clients.
