"Sadness because the dream has come to an end. Sadness that the hope of a revitalized vibrant safe downtown seems to becoming ever distant."I'm so very sad for this too. When will our city managers do something about our disgusting downtown. The city looses too because of lost tax revenue. Wake up city hall. I remember back in the 90s how much I enjoyed going downtown shopping on George Street and Specialty Ave. There were some amazing shops. All are gone now. The closest I get downtown now is the pool. So disappointed with our city managers who are doing absolutely nothing about our once thriving downtown.
WHAT!! NO WAY!! WRONG!! They're in city limits using all our city resources and they need to pay their share just like the rest of us. I own my land and I pay my share of taxes. So should they!! Just so unbelievable!!
IMO, money well spent. I'm off to the Aquatic Centre this morning for a class. Far sooner see our tax dollars spent on what they are intended for, to keep our city maintained, than the ridiculous amount of money spent on Moccasin Flats.
They shouldn't increase our property taxes this year. It's about time the city gave us a break. We all know the cost of living has gone through the roof. It would be really nice for the city to cut us some slack this year. We could all use it.
So happy these much needed repairs are finally going ahead. I'm a regular user of both pools. I'm not looking forward to only 1 pool for 2 years because it will be crowded. Both pools are so busy now. It is what it is though. Can't wait to see the Aquatic Centre when it's done.
These all seem reasonable to me. The pools kinda of a touchy subject right now but I say if we build it, we have to maintain it, so just do it. In the future though, it would be nice if they maintained the pool regularly instead waiting 25 years to do it all at once and avoiding a massive bill.
Woohoo!! This is awesome news!! I'm a weekly user of both our city pools and I can tell you, both a extremely busy. I'm not looking forward to the Aquatic Centre closing for several months. The downtown pool will be crazy busy during the Aquatic Centre maintenance but it is what it is.
Here we go again, spend, spend, spend. It's only OUR tax dollars that you're playing around with Yu. This 2 year shutdown for the Aquatic Centre maintenance is the most cost effective way. Heck, the work has already started. Yu start messing around with those contracts and the price tag is only going up so leave it alone, period!!
Enough is enough is enough. We are ALL so sick and tired of this and OUR hard earned tax money paying these people. Just send them back to where they came from, probably jail or put them in rehabilitation or something. I'd far sooner that then wasting money on police, fire and ambulance. Just ridiculous!!
Why in the world would we vote for the Conservatives who are all ex-Liberals, including Rustad. All he did was form a new party, filled it full of Liberals and named it the Conservative party. They are the Liberals who made this mess years ago. No way. Call it what you want but they are still a bunch of ex-Liberals.
Best of luck to you Rick. I really hope you get this resolved favourably and you get to continue with your great work at the current location. Thanks for all you do!!
Lock them up and throw away the key. If they're doing this at such a young age, imagine what they'll be doing when they're adults. I really sympathize with our local businesses and the RCMP. Too much of this garbage going on and our courts give them a slap on the wrist.
I've never lived in city where they plow out the end of our driveways till PG and I've lived on the prairies and the NWT. We managed. Heck some cities don't plow the subdivisions.
