I applaud your efforts and stand behind you! It was when it was mentioned that you’re protesting in front of Chris Scott’s office that the words “what a big joke” came to my head…..he’s such a disappointment to the constituents here in Northern Ontario that it doesn’t even seem worth protesting in front of his “office”.

Miigwetch Elders! Not once does this article mention the reason that the government still sprays in Northern Ontario. Big business interests and who cares about the little guys and the environment/wildlife right?!? What’s not permissible in other parts of Canada is allowed in Northern Ontario?!?!? So typical of our government. It’s not right. I will be focusing on the success of the elders on this one.

That map does absolutely NOTHING to show us exactly where these wind turbines are going. The city doesn’t own the property in Pennefeather and Aweres townships. I don’t know about Prince. The city doesn’t get to speak for the citizens living in those townships. Do your due diligence EDF. Inform the right people. Doesn’t seem worth pillaging the land for some VERY expensive wind turbines when we already have hydroelectric power and wind turbines in Algoma. Who is this energy going to serve? The people of Algoma? Do we need more energy generation in Algoma? If not, then those regions of North America who need it can foot the land space and the natural environment for it. When it comes to massive wind turbines I am definitely a NIMBY and proud of it. We should all be. So don’t bother people. Sticks and stones.

Yet another brilliant Doug Ford government move. Useless hypocrites. They want to reduce screen time by our youth and then they mandate screen time as a cost cutting measure. Lord help us there’s just no end to the self-serving idiocy that they expect us to endure.

The Rest of the World has no hope of Dorito face ever being stopped if nations remain silent. I am proud of Carney for speaking out. You don’t deal with a bully by cowering in the corner. The bully loves it when you don’t challenge them. That’s what they’re hoping for. We have the support of all other sane-minded nations as evidenced by the noticeable increase in cheering as our Canadian athletes entered the opening ceremonies at the Olympics. Their vice-president got the appropriate boos. Lol! Too bad we had to see his face on camera though.

Thank you Councillors Spina and Hollingsworth!! 👏🏻This has been a long time coming if only even for the sake of our youth’s safety. This is so important!

Even if a woman has a health care provider, the chances of that medical professional knowing anything that is actually helpful about menopause is nil. It’s a female condition. So menopause has been very under-researched and under-funded as a research topic. Then conventional medicine wants to treat symptoms with hormones which is VERY dangerous ladies. My cousin ended up with breast cancer from hormone replacement therapy. I had pretty bad menopausal symptoms and now I barely suffer at all due to a careful diet of non-inflammatory inducing foods and no alcohol. Unfortunately, alcohol really brings on those symptoms and messes with your metabolic system as well. It CAN be done without hormone replacement therapy☝🏻

So did the Presque Isle loose oil? Exactly how did the spill happen and approximately how much oil was spilled and how is this being dealt with?? Are “they” doing anything to mitigate environmental damage? How long do people need to worry about swimming in an oil spill? It seems that there is a lot of important information missing here.

For many students, an undergraduate degree is a stepping stone to another degree. When evaluating undergraduate programs, considering their job market viability directly upon graduating wouldn’t be an accurate assessment of those programs’ worth.

Excited!!! Love Blue Rodeo so much! Front row at many great concerts over the years even right here in the Soo. Shout out to everyone who attended their most recent show in the Soo at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion in July 2023. The power went out at one point near the end and it created a unique experience for everyone involved that even Blue Rodeo had never experienced. They loved the venue too. It was such a great concert❤️❤️❤️

Seriously?!? We’re supposed to be excited over our changing skyline due to an addition in the steel plant?!? Pollution plus?!?!? Just saying last night how beautiful cities in Europe are. At this rate, we’ll never even come close. Thank god our beauty lies in our natural surroundings.

All those accomplishments and all that money earned but Gretzky still needs to lower himself to advertising for online betting. Embarrassing really. I lost all respect for Wayne Gretzky when he decided that he needed to make yet even more money by promoting gambling, and online no less which makes gambling very accessible to our youth. I know this because my young nephew got hooked before he was even twenty years old. Shame on you Wayne. What happened to your moral compass??

You obviously have NO IDEA about how the education system functions in Ontario. Having just retired from it, I do. Teachers have absolutely NO POWER whatsoever about decisions regarding students or the school board and its functioning. School boards take their direction from the Ministry of Education. So direct your attention and frustration towards the Ministry and the rest of our current government. Those are the only establishments who can and do affect change within our schools.

Bravo!! You are SO spot on with this truthful rundown of how things go down in the Ford government. One of the first things that he did, and with such pride in his decisiveness, was to severely cut funding for children with autism and their families. At the same time, in the school system, his government continued to push for inclusion of higher needs students in regular classrooms. You can’t strip the system of supports and expect everything to be ok!!! Duh!!! Unconscionable!! Grrr!!

It’s a government grant from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation. If it weren’t spent in such a manner, as upgrading some parks for example, the funds would NOT be able to be redirected towards something else like “homelessness”. Instead of being an armchair warrior for the homeless with useless comments about redirecting government funding, try looking into why cities in southern Ontario are getting away with putting their problems on a bus and sending them up to our communities in Northern Ontario to become our problems.

I very much enjoyed reading John’s first novel Take the Front Seat. I was sorry when it ended as I missed the characters. Looking forward to reading The Search for Ezekial! Also great to support a local author who has an actual publisher and is not self-published. Then you know that a number of professionals, who are in the business, also really like and support this piece of literature, and feel that it’s worthy of publishing.

VERY well said Robert!!! Doug Ford has only ever, and will only ever, be looking out for his OWN best interests. He DOES NOT CARE about the human beings who populate Ontario, much less Canada. Let’s all collectively pray now that he doesn’t run federally.🙏
