We are tired of our stuff being stolen, our cars being broken into, people sleeping in our doorways, the constant pan handling, the open drug use, the trash blowing throw our city because they dig through garbage bins looking for metal, and not to mention the stuff they leave behind at the "camp" sites. The problem doesn't start with lack of housing, it starts with soft on crime mentalities de criminalization of open drug use and safe injection sites. Telling people it's okay to use drugs and give them supplies while not prosecuting them for drug related crimes (theft, dealing, possesion) is the root of ALL our problems with these encampments. There is a reason that guy won't leave, he can't live the way he wants in a building with other people. We need to get rid of "no deposit" bail and stop promoting drug use.
