Thank you to the Citizen for the attention to this important and sadly controversial issue.I am in full agreement with statements made by Ms. Matthew’s and Ms. Booth. The donut analogy, the lack of respect for the previously provided public input on development in this area, the inevitable increase to our property taxes from new infrastructure costs when we can’t even afford to fix the aging works we have, and the certainty that environmental damage as well as loss of wildlife habitat will occur - it is maddening to think this development could proceed. Prince George has other options where affordable housing can be built. Nature and green space are one the most important and attractive features our city has to offer. UNBC is looking to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. Pave paradise, put up a parking lot? I look forward to casting my vote in Novembers election.
