A good place to start would be if our city and the people that live here would stop enabling and pampering the people doing it . They need to be charged for these issues and the courts need to be tougher on them.

Almost every week some pedestrian gets hit by a car. How can adult people be so irresponsible for their own well being ? I see people every day just walking out into the streets without even looking. Do they feel that entitled and are pushing the " Pedestrians have the right away", beyond the original meaning ?

Here we go again with the pick on truckers campaign. Why would you specifically set up stings for specific items targeting trucks only ? So the drone spots a trucker following too close and they write him up. That's good the driver deserves it. Meanwhile, the drones also see passenger vehicles doing exactly the same thing but just ignore it. How bias is that ? This is giving a signal to drivers of cars that the rules don't really apply to you. I personally don't really want to be tail ended by a truck or a car, do you ?

As the old saying goes, " Looks like she ruffled the wrong feathers". She may lack a little in professionalism but I think she is honest and her heart is in the right place. Remember a mayor called Walter Assef ? People would say he's rude and crude but most of the people of Thunder Bay loved him.

We are already supporting the workers with our tax money. If your not happy with the money you make now get a job some where else. Walmart is hiring.

Glad to hear it was turned down. I would like to see the whole plan totally dropped. It hasn't worked in the other cities so why waste the money on it here ?

Good, If criminals were charged and trialled as extensive as police officers are, that would be a good thing.

This is what happens when you have organizations, people and a city that don't understand that helping homeless people, especially addicts is wrong. It only enables them to continue on their path to self destruction. Meanwhile, every body else has to suffer the side effects of their life style. Laws need to be changed and enforced fully to get these people off the streets. The excuses used that keeps these people on the street committing crimes daily and living a happy high life on other people expense is worn out and needs to come to an end.

Very well said and I agree with you except for one thing. Blaming the party that's in government is kind of sad. People are the problem not any political party.

Well said Sylvi. I know people that are on welfare that are very capable of working . It seems like a lot of these privileged people think they should get jobs that pay $100,000 or it's not worth the inconvenience of working. Meanwhile live off taxpayers money or relatives that struggle to support themselves.

Good story by this driver. I understand the fear he has with these close calls. Only thing I don't agree with is his statement, need improved driver training. What took place in this situation isn't a lack of training thing. It is just plain disrespect for safety of others. You will not convince me that anyone that drives any kind of vehicle doesn't know it's not safe to pass where you can't see what's coming. No different than people texting while driving and impaired. All the training in the world won't help when people just disregard laws and safety for others.

Yours is an example of likely thousands of cases. They want the landlord held responsible for something they can' do anything about ? The LTA is a totally useless act and needs to be fixed or ditched. It protects bad tenants, an 18 month eviction is fast acting for them. Not to mention that they almost always rule in favor of the tenant no matter what. Meanwhile the other tenants in the buildings are living in fear, often for their lives and nothing the landlord can do about.

We have the highest death rate because we have the highest number of addicts per capita than any other place in Ontario. Quit enabling drug addicts and making Thunder Bay a great place for them to be which encourages them to move here from all over Canada. Enabling kills.

It is terrible that adults in this country can no longer watch or hear comedy of their choice. People are not compelled to go to any event if they don't choose to. Is it not only fair that people should be allowed to see any entertainment they want ?

By the comments so far from everyone they all feel the same as me. With all the issue that need to be dealt with this days, why put so much effort into this non-harmful issue ? Mean while I picture the schoolboard members in the courtroom wearing Chinese knock off clothing , perfume and purses.

I would like to have the whole plan scraped. Enough with the enabling people to stay homeless and live off others money. However, this is the best location they have chosen so far, if they go ahead with it. I don't know why a bi-law isn't put into place prohibiting tenting anywhere in the city except designated areas.

I would like to know how they come up with that exaggerated price of an average price of $1509 average for a one bedroom apartment ? Way off course. I just took a quick look at apartments for rent saw several at $700.00 to $1000 per month. I only found one that was near the price they are saying and it was a luxury apartment. It also said that there are 83 apartments available in Thunder Bay.

Hard to believe that it takes 2 years to figure out what to charge a person with that was involved in a serious accident. I'm betting that it will take another 2 years for the courts to make a decision.
