SooToday 10I believe in past years PUC Kept fire hydrants clear but Cut Backs. I think was the claim instead they asked the Public to do them a favour and keep them clear. Well PUC is constantly digging into our pockets taking more money from us raising rates. So PUC use some of that money from your rate hikes to pay for those Hydrants to be kept clear.

Will Sault firefighters become the new hydrant heroes?
SooToday 2Not only does it take significant time to dig out the buried Fire Hydrant. Being buried in the snow and deep frost in the ground causes the Fire Hydrant to freeze up. Taking valuable time to get the water to flow.. All while the Home is on fire. Fire trucks I believe have reserve water on board to start knocking down a fire. But what happens if it runs out and the Fire Hydrant isnt thawed out? I'd like to thank our Fire Fighters for risking their lives everyday.
