I want to thank Mayor Guthrie for his years of service to Guelph. Despite our disagreements during the time we were on Council,, we agreed more. Guelph is a community worth preserving.I have no doubt that even though we were often on the wrong sides of issues, Cam cared and still cares for Guelph. Cam, I wish you happy trails and wherever they might lead you, may you be forever successful

Blessings, Kate. You showed many the way to live and offered love to the community. For you, the poor were truly blessed. Inshallah may angels guide you to paradise.

Well, expressed Adam. The utter absurdity of “Out of sight out of mind” is at play in this thoughtless public policy decision. Safe consumption sites save lives. This will lead to more sharps on the street and more people using in back alleys. No junkie is going to look to see if they are within 200 m of a school before they use. No junkie will think after they have used to find a safe place to dispose of their sharps. Safe injection sites were not perfect, but that’s because the money has not been put into addressing addiction treatment, Mental health support and homelessness. This is precisely the opposite direction to which the government should have gone. It only serves ideologues who are thoughtless on substance abuse. Thank you to the compassionate people who work at low paying jobs at these drug sites offering health care to many -‘ Including university students who are often well off and housed but are using. This lifeline will soon be gone and Paramedic cost will rise.

Thanks Adam, you gave me tears of sorrow and happiness too. Sad to lose Kate. Happy to have been in her light. Let’s carry on her mission to help the least among us. Namaste, inshallah, peace and blessings.

John was a fantastic person. He has been perfectly described as a calming influence with a vision. He will be missed. Thank you, John for all your contributions to Guelph trails and artworks.

Actually, that’s not entirely correct. The initial presentation was to be received. Council is waiting to see and hear what all this means. That will become a very intensely developed corner. However, there is no foundation to not receive the report.

Thanks for this positive approach to addressing one of our community’s greatest challenges: poverty and alienation. Thanks to RCM for offering sanctuary to a growing underclass in Guelph and Canada. It takes a village to raise a child; it takes a community to care.

Royal City Mission is Ground Zero for homelessness and under housing. In the many times I’ve visited there, I felt quite safe. I also felt those who were victims of poverty had more to fear than did I. Royal City Mission has a tireless and committed group of volunteers. Many of these are from faith backgrounds, and there those who profess no faith who work to support people living below the poverty line.I encourage everyone to join these meetings. I am fearful we have not even seen the tip of the poverty and homelessness iceberg.Thank you, Councillor Linda Busatil for the income tax clinics you put on there. Thank you anward winning guitarist Adrian Raso for the fundraising concerts you offered. You are proof that Royal City Mission is safe.

Ideally, I would love an election. However, I am realistic and what is most important is to ensure that we have someone to represent Ward six who has the knowledge base to serve for about one and a half years. Aside from that, I would like and would appreciate that the person who served was not planning to run so as Council does not give that person the inside track. I wonder if a retired Councillor would be willing to serve a term of a year and a half knowing they were not planning to run again? That person could be a great compliment to W6 Councillor Chew’s youthful energy.

A big thank you to the volunteers who helped keep RibFest clean. In coordinating volunteers from groups like the Chamber Choir and the Junior Griffins, I was able to meet with many enthusiastic individuals who didn’t just believe in Ribfest, but believed in sorting garbage and recycling. Every year, Ribfest improves its waste sorting - This year was no exception. We do our best to enhance the circular food economy, recycling, and proper waste management. Next year we will be even better.Thank you to Tristan who put in 20 hours of volunteer work so he could get his volunteer hours done! Best of luck in your last year at Lourdes Tristan! Your commitment to the environment is exemplary.

Blessings to Denise. Her love of theatre and teaching (at CHSS) were rocks upon which community arts and culture could thrive.
