Just curious as to why some are claiming it’s the Mayor’s fault that a young person overdosed. Tragic as that is, taking drugs in the first place is a personal choice. Unfortunately our society has become one whereby blame is always projected onto others.

I understand why this is being discontinued. Lack of respect for property is a huge issue. Our condo building was open all night until people started sleeping in the vestibule. That would have been fine but then we began to encounter feces smeared all over the windows etc. Our condo board then made the decision to lock the exterior doors at night. We had no choice. If City Hall follows suit I can’t help wondering what will happen to our costly new library when it opens.

Where is the SPCA? These dogs should be held until this is resolved. Who knows when it will go to court!!

Yesterday I saw two young people on main arteries at rush hour whipping along with no helmets. Absolutely insane when you think about it.

The only surprise here is what took so long and for something so serious why can’t specific names be revealed? Are we protecting criminals?

So sad that the city cannot support The Tiny Homes Coalition and get it done. Exactly what is the holdup?? They are sorely needed.

Could someone please explain why these are needed 24/7 and during the summer months. I totally support the cameras during school hours and even extending the time to 7pm. During the week.mOtherwise, unless I’m missing something, this is an unnecessary cash grab.

In most democracies the majority rules. I’m assuming that in the city core the majority consists of tax paying business owners and residents that support them. When any downtown is overrun with tents, open drug use, thievery & sporadic stabbings, it’s pretty darn hard to conduct a business that invites visitors. If these folks even cleaned up after themselves I would show more empathy; instead it’s all about entitlement.

Guelph is expanding and housing is needed. We need to stop building 3000 sq foot homes that house only 3-4 people. Expanding onto the Greenbelt or farmland is not the answer. Change is inevitable.

Bloody dangerous even in good weather and a good snowfall will cover the concrete barriers making them more dangerous for cars. Whose idea was this anyone?

No doubt this bizarre reversal by Mayor McIsaac will result in a substantial and justified lawsuit by Trevor Lee. Perhaps council should bill the Mayor; certainly the Orillia taxpayer should not be billed. Questionable behaviour like this does not suit the office. Get rid of him at the next election!

Terrible maintenance expense for a short season plus the issue of danger make this a silly idea….no matter the age group.
Unfortunately the Feds decided that the South end should be part of the county and wer’re forced to deal with Conservative Michael Chong as our MP. Since there is very little communication from him, who knows what the plans are for the S end. This includes anyone S of Arkell. Ridiculous because we had no say!!!!

Garbage collection is now a disaster. I’m in a condo building with only 70 units. We cannot go to alternate weeks for recycling as we fill the bins every week. We can’t get more bins because we have no place for them. This new idea is simply NOT FEASIBLE. I’m paying $3900 in taxes for a one bdrm unit and our street never even gets plowed! I could go on and on….

I’m a senior on a tight budget who is fed up with these tax increases. I own a one bdrm condo apartment and already pay $3900 in property taxes. Enough is enough Mr Mayor!

Very meaningful contribution that will benefit the whole community. Grateful.

This sounded great until I read “Chartwell”; then I knew it was out of my league. Why can’t Guelph do more for low income seniors!

No wonder homes can’t get built in a timely fashion in Guelph. Does the Heritage committee contribute to the costs of restoring this to a livable condition? Is that even possible when the building is in such deplorable condition!!

Guelph is so fortunate to have this much needed facility along with the great Cardiac centre on Eramosa. Now if we could only get a new or expanded hospital….we would be in great shape!
I’m just hoping his replacement will put the Liberals back on track to keep Poilievre as head of opposition. People need to realize Poilievre will slash every good social program along with the CBC. Never mind that he’s likely to sell us out to Trump. Be careful what you wish for.
