Vandalism such as this makes me shake my head. What does the individual(s) responsible gain from it? I'd better understand if the tires were outright stolen, but to just go on a slashing rampage is pretty twisted.
@CRV-EX, locking them up won't save tax money. Do some homework about the per diem rates to incarcerate people. Also, to house these 53 individuals would further exacerbate an already overcrowded North Bay jail. Do you wanna pay for a new one?
Long overdue. Diver was abused when it was an unenforced conservation area and it's no better now since they've contracted out seasonal permit management.
Gaslighting??? Give me a break. This is a reasonable response by police given the unreasonable position they are in. Maybe adding a social worker to these patrols might help with some interactions
Although there is a content warning at the front end of this article, the level of graphic detail is beyond what is necessary to capture the significance of the crime. The staff responsible for both editing and publishing this should give their heads a shake and go back to journalism school.
Are those of you that think building a "superjail" aware what that will cost? Not just for the building itself but to staff the institution as well. The per diem rate to house an inmate, including those on remand (not convicted), is off the charts. You think a dual pad arena is expensive!! Incarcerating people is not the solution. Locking people up simply for mental health reasons is also against our charter rights. If you want this in your life, move to Russia or North Korea.
I have literally had enough with Idahaddanuff. It's that kind of flawed logic that is killing people. That exact mindset is resulting in the resurgence of diseases long thought to have been eradicated. If you want to believe in these conspiracy theories, go ahead. But stop spewing misinformation that is harmful to others.
jrmp, I highly doubt a local grocery store is responsible. More than likely someone did an east coast lobster run and dumped them when they began to spoil from being improperly stored.
