City staff oppose Westmount bid for office development, favour downtown

If the city keeps pushing this CARFAX will just build in St.Thomas. Like the Arthur Voaden school site, which is now available. It’s fix downtown and people will come. Not, more people will fix downtown.

Seems like a lot of work just to get a Pride flag. Hope the four of them agreed on how to share it before stealing it.

If you think "Wonderland Road is pretty busy", wait until 800 people are trying to drive to and park (expensively) downtown.

Forcing office workers is not going to save downtown. The 800 CARFAX people are going to arrive and go into the building in the morning. Them leave at the end of the day. A small number will go out for lunch, and a few might go out after work. So at best this helps restaurants limp along. Downtown, once it's cleaned up, needs something like store front businesses to draw shoppers downtown. Lower the rents, or offer incentives to entrepreneurs to open up shops. This will bring foot traffic to downtown better than office workers.

Isn't there a bylaw against this? Recent updates to parking provisions City of London Parking Provisions, standard apartments require a minimum of 0.5 to 1.5 spaces per unit

"development firm is betting renters will" not need parking. That would be a good thing to some sort of market survey prior to building. Perhaps they concluded all those homeless people around London pushing their belongings in shopping carts don't have a car, but need a home. Problem solved. /s

Elbows UP is not about blaming Conservatives. It's about patriotism. You seem to lack it and are bent on blaming Liberals for everything. The recent fast fall world wide has not been an evil 11 year plan. It's Trump's disruptive execute orders cause global repercussions. And stock market manipulation to increase the wealth of his wealthy friends.

It's everywhere, but thanks for the news flash

Schools do not push anything other than concepts, history, math, etc. it’s called education. Otherwise what you’re speaking about sounds pretty good.

How is voting Liberal causing global economic uncertainty, which affects many of the other first-world countries?

Not one of the four could untie the knot in the halyard. Or smart enough to just cut the rope.

It’s in July in London due to scheduling as June is already very busy with all the straight festivals And because of how many other pride festivals are happening around the province during June. Putting in July is both better for scheduling and will draw more people. You are not required to attend any of these events

Nothing stopping you from requesting one. To get a crosswalk designated for veterans, contact your local Legion Branch or City Hall to discuss the feasibility and design options for a commemorative crosswalk. They can provide guidance on the necessary steps and approvals needed for installation.

All too true. Youth today know they've got it soft. In school there are no consequences for late assignments. Everyone gets an award - even for just 'participating' (being present). No one fails - because it might hurt their self-esteem. So there are students moving thru the system without actually needing to learn. Eventually leading some to realize crime can pay, because it's anonymous.

Where does it say the TVDSB will re-evaluate the boundaries? It rarely changes the boundaries unless there is a new or closed school.
7
TVDSB can’t have both “rising enrolment” and “ Overall enrolment is projected to decline by 2,760 students in 2026-27” Also, doesn’t the board submit its budget to the ministry, who then decides whether to fund it all. What parts is the ministry not funding? Are those things not within the school board’s mandate, perhaps?

Well, Doug Payne, the American people got the representative they elected. Even though it was not quite the majority of citizens, there isn’t much of a backlash.
