I bet a lot of people who use fentanyl read these articles. All they care about is their next high, not help. Tired of the enabling and glad the safe injection sites are being closed down near schools. For once the Ontario Govt. is doing something right.

Sorry, but don’t agree with this one.. I am status, but tired of the money being giving to those who feel entitled, money given goes into the pockets of leaders who don’t lead, they just keep taking it from their own communities and live the high life. When will this stop, when is enough enough?

Have police, fire and ambulance been consulted? I know most of the community does not want the encampments at all. Will they be policed to make sure the rules are followed? Are they policed now? Will this be a by law, and if so, who will enforce it?

And how many of them were homeless because of their opioid addiction? Numbers on that?

Whoopie! Not impressed, would say I don’t care, but I do. Hence another tax increase. This city is a mess.

I understand the frustration. Can you imagine being a paramedic, firefighter or police officer in the community these days? Not saying he was right or wrong. Kinda hope he gets a light sentence and gets to keep his job or no sentence at all like everyone else gets. Same for Mr. Frankow.

You are not supposed to be driving an ATV around town with or without a helmet.

If they are driving a truck and feeding the ducks food they are not starving.

Nope, you want police to do their jobs or not? They have enough on their plates as it is.

Just wondering, how many children are currently living in the encampments? Does anyone know?

#1 This is a Provincial issue, go to Queens Park for your demonstration.#2 It doesn’t have to close, it has to move.#3 You want to stop deaths from overdoses, stop drug use.

Why don’t we let go of all the firefighters, police officers and paramedics, see how that works for you? Let’s spend our money on a soccerplex instead, you know, we all want and need that.

Well isn’t that convenient. All the amenities and a River to float around in. They’re lucky…they get A/C too.

Probably a good idea to step back from this one and let the union work for their employees just like police and fire services did. You don’t want to make enemies with any of our emergency services. They are all valuable.

Haven’t heard a lot of good news for the north from Ford in ages. Pretty easy to tell he is campaigning. Try working on Hwy. safety Doug…if you can’t double the Hwy. Up here, you can sure do something about driver training for heavy haulers. Hwy closure cost Southern Ontario taxpayers too.

Sad news, condolences to her family and friends.

If we did that in the first place we might not have this situation now, a blind eye and enabling helps no one.

On the fence on this one, don’t want people to die, but don’t want them to use those drugs either, that’s not a life. It puts stress on our police, fire and paramedics financially and mentally and they have to keep going. Not a lot of support for them. They have to work, train, do paperwork over and above their calls. Many suffer from ptsd because of it. And I certainly don’t want the sites near a school. Would love to see more money out into youth and prevention.

Another mess in the making….leave it alone.

I have to say that people don’t run for council for the money, but they certainly should be paid for their time. There are jobs out there for students that would pay that much in 4 months if you factor in overtime. Yes a few less councillors would be nice, but I don’t think they are being overpaid.
