They previously announced they were running out of funds and approached the contractor about design changes.I would love to see our city grow and have grand buildings but not by reckless spending by a special interest group that keeps coming to the public trough for funding.Who knows if it will be a success however, if you’re interested, take a drive and look at the current art gallery located on Confederation College property. The parking lot is almost always empty of visitors.What seems to have a common denominator in all these failed and expensive projects Shelby Ch' ngI for one have had enough of these poorly thought out projects and uncontrolled spending

I would be asking if I was a business in Hillyard.Councillor Hamilton spoke to CBC and reading quotes assigned to him make me want to nominate him as our councils word salad master “I think the value add was in the south core, where not only would we be able to provide the service, but we would we would certainly be able to clean up some of the tent realities down there, and help clean up some of the social issues, and certainly use the the facility as a as a transformative, transformational piece in addressing some of the social conditions on at the street level," Hamilton said.

When that failed it took them 10 minutes to come up with an alternative site. Apparently that wasn’t considered rushing.

If it stopped now and abandoned, the text would actually save money. As this is, I believe the third time that they’ve exceeded the budget. It’s time for the board of directors for this project to resign and install a new board with some type of financial oversight.

TBNewsWatch 2I am very skeptical of this attempt by Admin to steer cancel to a site that had been previously rejected not only by council but by those residents and businesses most directly affected . There was a decision made in November. It was found to be the right decision, but administration wouldn’t let it go and is trying to steamroll council .When asked to remember, it’s not just the location here that’s involved but many millions of taxpayers dollars that will likely be wasted. This is not a decision to be made lately or a decision that administration is determined to push through

Arbitrator rules city was entitled to reduce fire truck crew size
TBNewsWatch 3The city commissioned a study years ago that recommended closing two fire halls. Whatever happened to that report. At most there were usefulness that medical call is to help lift a stretcher. They cannot transport patients. They receive basic first aid yet receive way more pay than the EMS that I should do the work. They may be first at a call, but mostly standing around watching the others work. If they were so useful, why do they not go out calls after 11 o’clock?

Rising call volume forces early retirement of fire truck
TBNewsWatch 1This is obviously a deliberate plan to create the illusion of being busy. Fire trucks racing dangerously down busy streets only to turn around and slip back to station. If the need to attend to non fire calls requires 2-3 trucks why is it never after 11 pm?
