How about the taxpayers....? They are the one's really backed into a corner they're footing the bill for this project that has little to no support. Perhaps they should scrap the entire concept!
The City Counslers that voted in favor of this should be ashamed of themselves! Start listening to the taxpayers, business owners and residents!I've said it many times before.....start respecting the taxpayer and enforce our City by-laws.
Absolutely!.....Mr. Gagne is without a doubt correct on this issue. Time to stop enabled and apply our laws and by-laws equally to all people without exception.
We have to stop this nonsense....allowing city administration to let these people destroy our parks, render our trails and sidewalks unusable, and denagrade our neighborhoods is complete disgrace. It's time to defeund Elevate NW and clean out City Hall of anyone promoting their woke agenda! RESPECT the taxpayers of Thunder Bay.
Why not have a plebesite on this issue....asking the taxpayer?.....if they are in favour of taxpayers dollars being spent on this temporary nonsense. My guess is City Administration/Council doesn't want the answer they all know will be a resounding NO!Respect the taxpayer!
At some point City Council should realize that they have minimal, if any taxpayer support for this lunacy!.....once again the inmates are in charge of the asylum!
This should be a side show at the Cirsus!...with no public support for this why is it going forward. We need a Council and City Administration that respects the taxpayer! This money should be going into fixing our crumbling infrastructure, not adding to it!
No worries the province will extend...this $2.5 million will be a drop on the bucket as far as the total expense of this project. This is simply the province downloading their responsibilities onto the municipalities....and some take the bait!..the city has no mandate to be in the housing business! Again, the taxpayers do not support this project, stop debating and abandon the concept all together!
What part of the word NO!, does City Administration fail to understand? Administration needs to follow Council's orders not the reverse. Get with the program!
They take pride in their work when they get the outcome that they want!....City Administration needs a lesson in hierarchy and who pays the bills, namely the taxpayer. The lack of regard afforded business owners and residents is a disgrace!
Stop the enabling and start the enforcement of our existing By-laws which address overnight camping. Perhaps if we make it less accommadative to inviduals in Encampments then people would be less likely to choose this life style. This would possibly correct the problem without spending millions of taxpayer dolllar$ on temporary shelters...on a hope or maybe strategy that so far elsewhere has failed to yield any meaningful results.
The Mayor is absolutely correct...the current Humanitarian approach is not working. The City including Bylaw Enforcement have to quit enabling the homeless. Time to respect the taxpayer......let's take our parks and rivers back.
Mr. Benz is absolutely correct!.....other counselors and the Mayor should take heed. This project has very little public support. City Administration needs to be put in their proper place in the hierarchy, and not telling City Council what to do.
The City has no mandate to be in the housing business, that is Dsab's job. City council has to start listening to and respect the taxpayer. Let's purge City Administration of all the ENABLER'S. Stop providing the infrastructure and start the enforcement of our By-laws!
Yes let's call the temporary structures "Enablement Avenue" 1, 2 and 3! Perhaps we can advertise across the country see if we can get the numbers up to 500!...Lunacy as usual from our City administration Encapment gurus!
Could this have something to do with the legal action that area businesses are pursuing?.....i guess YES!.....Scrap the entire idea...and fire anyone in Administration that is responsible for this nonsense...There is no taxpayer support for this concept, and that's business and residential. Respect the taxpayer!
