Cost of doing business when you have councillors putting their “private” political opinions on a public forum mocking someone’s death while simultaneously misrepresenting what he stood for. She deserves to draw criticisms for being divisive.
Should probably focus on how Canadians can steer away from this age of national tyranny with bills such as C-22. Every day we’re getting closer to an authoritarian state. Once we’re there, if we’re not already, the only way out isn’t by voting.
Yes. The jobs that were created due to the massive intake of immigrants were regular high school part time jobs and gig economy jobs. Barely a fraction of it contributed to the economy in a meaningful way where it increased the GDP per capita. Sure. The GDP total increased as people came here AND worked. But that’s not the same as coming here and working a complex job and producing something of unique value.I too know people who also left to go work in the USA. They were sick of the lack of support in healthcare here both for staffing and for safety. They also receive higher pay for their value. There’s a brain drain happening because of federal policies. Another commenter had a 2-3 vote ratio. Not sure if these people don’t see it, feel insulted, or what have you. But it’s a reality. The more brains leave our economy, the more of us low to middle income earners are the only ones left to foot the socialist programs. Naturally, the government will look to us to help sustain it.
There is no mandate. No one asked for this and I’ll be if the floor crossers had by-elections held, the floor crossers would lose. Many say they put a conservative into parliament and not the person. Canadians don’t want carney to have a majority. They wanted strong contest with a liberal to lead.
The Steel plant is the anchor of Sault Ste. Marie. Without the plant Sault Ste. Marie all but disappears. Second largest employer if I'm not mistaken is the hospital. Do you think people come from all around to work at the hospital if the Steel Plant disappears? The town shrinks without the plant.
Carney is WEF along side Justin Trudeau. Their MO is to assist in bankrupting Canada. They aren't people friendly. They, under the direction of the WEF are bent on destroying freedom and prosperity in Canada. Everything that has been done in the last 10 years is designed to give you less options of speaking freely with the introduction of Bills C2/C8/C9, Online harms act, Bill C-67(2015), less financial freedom with higher taxes (yes Trudeau lowered mid rate from 22% to 20.5% but tacked on everywhere else). Less money anyone takes home is less they put into innovation, expansion, hiring others. Carbon taxes, clean fuel tax, federal excise tax, taxes on sales, more EI/CPP contributions, taxing us to send product to USA (Tariffs from USA) but poor deal making skills nonetheless. We start tariff wars we can't win. 0.5% growth in the last 10 years and the lowest of the G7 nations.Poilievre might be the antitheses to all of this. But he's the wrong colour to this failed Liberal ideology.
10 years Trudeau and the LPC pushed expanding pipelines only to continuously kick the can down the street and set up policies that allowed the SCC to take the blame after the LPC set up the laws and then took themselves to court for stalling on production. Carney was Trudeau's boss. We're getting all of the same and then some. This is certainly domestic policy. We don't refine the oil we produce. We sell it to the USA at a slightly cheaper than market rate, they refine our oil, and sell it back to us at a more expensive than market rate. If we did this ourselves and shipped our oil world wide, we could benefit.Countries that pay less than $1.00/L CAD;92. Iraq $0.85/L93. Oman $0.85/L94. Saudi Arabia $0.84/L95. Qatar $0.77/L96. Malaysia $0.75/L97. Kazakhstan $0.75/L98. Bahrain $0.69/L99. Venezuela $0.68/L100. Iran $0.58/L101. Egypt $0.49/L102. Kuwait $0.47/L103. Algeria $0.47/L
When has Carney stood tough on Trump? He went there earlier this week and bent the knee and still walked away with no deal (Again!). What he should be doing is accept that we started this tariff war in the first place decades ago and it finally caught up to bite us in the behind. He should be doing everything to expand our natural resource market and bring in trillions into our economy. But he won't.
Nothing to do with the PUC. Need to run big lines in from out of town. More of a provincial project. Federal dollars are helping out. Will be here soon.
ehbcd - no carney has not resigned. He did have Brookfield move to the united states where it’s cheaper to operate a business and less impacted by Canadian government overreach and taxes.
And you think Liberals or even Canada is a serious party? Why do you think there’s a brain drain in Canada? No one worth anything wants to be here. It’s a crappy country now. We imported third world and now we’re reaping what we sew. The government doesn’t want to nor will they ever do anything to “help us”. Carney and his friends are only in it to better themselves and sell us out. They don’t care about people. They see us as a way to get ahead.
