Government announces new income program for people with disabilities
OkotoksToday

No one can trust ANYTHING that this current ucp government does to actually be in the best interests of Albertans. This "ability to earn while on AISH = ADAP" will without a doubt, be transformed into "must earn/work while on AISH"... There are many more things Smith could do for disabled Albertans, like ensuring their supported living accomodations are actually affordable, properly maintained and livable!

I'm very surprised that this article was allowed to be published! Typical Western Wheel content is so over the top UCP slanted, and it's clear that Smith and Poilievre are Covid/Health/Science deniers. Thank you, Brett McKay for your bravery in reporting facts about the reality that Covid is still an active disease that is harming many vulnerable people's health and safety.

There's absolutely no reason for the "set to launch in a couple weeks" delay. So typical of the ucp... let the stores and people do all the front line work, then step up to take the credit. She's terrified to offend trump. Smith has a long way to go to repair the damage her taxpayer funded holiday to Mar a Lago and Trump's inauguration did. She still isn't 100% onboard with protecting Canada, with her little dig at "no gov't controls Alberta" in her statement yesterday. The other premiers are stepping up to defend Canada as a whole, while she keeps chipping away at her dream of Alberta's independence.

Your comment is offensive to any decent person. It is possible to disagree without relying on such wording.

Sigh... Yet another example of why sometimes it's embarrassing to be an Albertan. Are these the same idiots who put up a billboard with a picture of Smith happily standing with trump and promoting the heinous, insulting "51st State" thing?

It would be nice to see some actual follow-through of these goals in respect to Seniors, which has been shown to be the fastest growing population in Okotoks. But, yet again, the article highlights "youth", and the recent/current town projects all are youth oriented. I realize the article isn't the place to get details of "the plan", but a link to where to find the plan WITH details would be helpful, otherwise, it's just pretty words without meanting.

There's a very easy way for citizens in Alberta to stop being ignored by their local, provincial and federal governments and representatives... STOP BEING SO BRAINWASHED THAT YOU ONLY ELECT CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES!!! If you want things to be different, you have to vote differently!

It's journalistic malpractice to keep referring to this as "historic, part of Okotoks history". It was a 20 year old vanity project by 30 year old organization. Okotoks has no strong tie to the petroleum industry other than lots of retired oil workers, the rig NEVER operated near Okotoks, or even in Canada. The "55%" who objected, have no plausible reasons of objection other than to complain about the town council. The headline should read "former Montana rig moving to Oil Rig museum", and let it go!!!
From the article itself... "We began actually a serious discussion with the Province of Alberta to move it to Turner Valley, and unfortunately, they couldn't accept the artifact [since] it's not an original artifact of Okotoks or the region,"
