For you obviously. Best to adhere to speed limits and stop whining. Just be glad that it's just a photo, otherwise you could be pulled over by a cop in a speed trap and he would throw the book at you. Vehicle impounded and fines. Not a cash grab, it's a form of training for those that believe they are above the law.
Imagine us, Harley Owners and not one tattoo to be found. We personally don't like 'em. My Uncles had them...the Airforce/Navy types usually applied to forearms, but that's the esprit de corps type of thing.
Damien Kurek did not get "pushed out", he voluntarily gave up his seat so that Pierre could run. Art Carney forcibly removed the candidate from Nepean so that he could be the Liberal leader.
An Amercan Friend of ours is voting for an independent candidate. That likely is true for many Americans, they aren't crazy about either Biden or Trump.
Never mind the "internets" we've got a bunch of silly old codgers that regularly call into AM radio call in shows disseminating the worst bunch of hyperbole ever. They actually seem to feed off of each other, the ultimate game of telephone!
Interesting how no mention is made of the miles and miles of plastic bale wrap used by farmers in our area. These bales are left in fields for years so the wrap gets ripped and torn and ends up hanging everywhere. At least single use plastic bags can be reused. So in reality the bags are being unjustly maligned. Now we drag special grocery bags with us that yes get reused, but are they clean and germ free?
We asked our councillor about having a couple of hens in our backyard, and the answer was no. Really...we are on a 1/2 acre so space isn't the issue. We have a neighbour that has hens.... it's ok as long as no one complains. Geez, don't we have better things to do than take options away from saving a few bucks and have fresh eggs to boot! A relative of ours had a couple of hens...in the basement of their home, on a residential street in Ottawa. Imagine that!
Safety may be the under lying reasons for the cameras, but mostly it is supporting residents who are complaining about you and your law-breaking cohorts having no regard for speed limits in residential neighbourhoods. It is not your God-given right to speed on city streets. And what does it matter if you used no discretion when loaning out your vehicle. You own it and the fine too. Pay it and move on and stop racing around in residential neighbourhoods, there are kids, dogs and seniors walking around.
Can you imagine the furor if I backed my trailer into a City Hall parking lot and set up camp? Barbecue, cooler of drinks, lawn chairs and a picnic table and a ring for the campfire.
CTV Kitchener is the worst. We call it "Kindergarten News", when the news is on of course. Bell Media has decided that there is absolutely nothing going on in South Western Ontario from Sarnia to Tobermory on weekends. Only "news" in the GTA is worth reporting.
If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.Would you rather pay a constable to sit and do radar? The result is the same, but the cops/cruiser time costs more, and you're pulling him away from other more pressing things, like pulling over driver's watching Crave when they are supposed to be driving.
Adam, I think your idea for us to give up something so that others that have not will have more is not the basis of the capitalist system. Rather if we work hard we will flourish. Is that so bad? I do believe this is what Pierre is telling us.
The Water Wasters should camp out for an hour or so at their local grocery store. Observe the number of shoppers that have cases of bottled water in their carts. No sense beating up the bottlers, there is a huge market for bottled water, best to mind your business and move on to more important things like cleaning up garbage in the ditches.
Soccer Mom: I'm far from priviledged. I find that statement to all of us of the working class who work at substandard jobs to put a roof over our heads and food on the table, quite insulting. In fact I'm disabled and am at risk of losing all I've worked for over the last 45 years. My husband is under-employed and is over-looked for jobs in his field because he is "at that age". Many of the "campers" are not just poor unfortunates with a run of bad luck, many are master manipulators and have managed to have doors closed to them because of their behaviour. I'm not ignorant of the type, I have one that is closely related to me and our parents would be devastated if they were alive and were aware of his behaviour. Cut the business owners some slack, the downtown is not a campground and most are just trying to make a living at something they love to do. By the way, they aren't MY loved ones.
I've got an idea, give us residents the fine money for pain and suffering. We'll put it to good use....a neighbourhood party!Don't forget, these cameras are being installed on request of the residents who are fed up with you driving at excessive speeds through our residential streets. Cheaper than patrol officers and no coffee breaks. Everywhere you go there are cameras, just that these ones catch you speeding.
The downtown is essentially, the "Business District". These districts were created over 150 years ago for residents to shop and bank. The Daytime homeless shelter has no business being in the downtown. The downtown is for doing business, not doing your business.Glad my parents and grandparents don't have to trip over this mess to get to their favourite stores, restaurants and banks.
Your refrain is tiresome. You ignored signage, were speeding and click, a photo taken. Not a cash grab. Would you rather be pulled over and given a bear bite personally by a cop? He might find some other good stuff.... drinking I imagine which will be a even larger cash grab...loss of licence impound fees ....
