You don't heal by constantly dwelling on the past and trying to over shadow every major holiday with something wrong in the past. That is not healing. Healing is acknowledging it, fixing it where you can, talking about it (not over and over and over) and moving forward. Constantly bringing it up in the way that it has been actually causes the issue to lose meaning in my opinion and actually hurts the cause.
