Funny how if the public did not pay their taxes the government would be knock at your door.Maybe we all should try it?

Why? Smith just does what she wants anyways, she doesn’t listen. Our property taxes went up because of her cuts and Alberta educational tax increase. There is nothing she or Sigurdson (Mr. Invisible) can say that will make me vote for the UCP ever again. Governments don’t work for you, they work for themselves!

This is why I got rid of my grass in the front yard and 1/2 the back and replaced it with rock. The bonus is no more deer dropping or grazing on my lawn, which is another problem this town needs to address.

Would that be the same as the last home assessments will not affect your taxes, even though mine went up $300?Okotoks is losing it appeal…..

Create a bylaw that forbid vehicles parking on roads during the one day of garbage collection for that area from 10AM to 5PM. Reducing 1 garbage bin doesn’t eliminate the risk of congestion.Ticket the cars that don’t comply.

The bins don’t create congestion, all the parked cars on road do.
This is ridiculous, if O&G can ignore a tax bill of $240M, we should be able to ignore an increase in property taxes. Christ, the UCP ignore the $60M property taxes in Edmonton. I have no kids in school and have no need for more schools, therefore why do I have to pay for any school tax increase on my bill?
No kidding.
Why doesn’t someone write an article or investigate why Okotoks is paying $0.13/l higher than Calgary and $0.10/l higher than High River for gasoline? Is there price gouging going on?This is ridiculous!
I did not vote for Thorn for this very reason. If this council cannot manage the present money within their means, giving more just feeds the ever growing wasteful spending problem. I do not want this town growing any bigger. Traffic is horrible, crime is up and getting worse. Another 4% is robbery for what we get. Time for people to fight these increases every year!
What a joke! I paid $8300 last year in property taxes. Now it goes up another $300 this year. Unbelievable! I own my house and it feels like I’m a renter! What happened to the small town advantage? No longer exists with Thorn.
