WATCH: With Ford’s blessing, Mulroney endorses Poilievre

Good on Caroline Mulroney for supporting Pierre Poilievre. Never before has it been more important to support the candidate that will put the every day Canadian worker first. Carney only cares about enriching the 1%. He views the Canadian worker as a tool at the disposal of wealthy. He's a snake in grass. Don't be fooled by the media's Trump obsession.

'Confidential resolution negotiations' - a fancy term for 'pay up taxpayers of Orillia'.

Onlooker, every current Liberal MP enthusiastically stood and clapped for Trudeau and his policies. They are all complicit, and they all deserve to go down with the ship.

@Propaganda.... this twin election cycle is more closely linked than ever before.

$60,000 grant of taxpayer dollars? In my observation this family has been very successful in the hospitality industry in Orillia - and congrats to them for being successful. Surely they have the assets in place to secure private financing to launch a new business venture. In this day and age, 60k could be spent on many other various projects to help those who are less fortunate.

The private cannabis economy will eventually find a balance in each community. That's the nature of private business. I'm glad individual entrepreneurs have the chance to be part of this. As opposed to a government run monopoly.

@Einstein... Now, more than ever, we need a Canadian PM who is not a polished globalist shill. Pierre worked hard his whole life in his chosen profession of politics. His constituents re elected him time after time, so he must be doing something right. I'll take the local Canadian guy over the globalist any day. Trade deals are not negotiated by the PM, regardless if it's Poilievre or Carney..... they are negotiated with an entire team of trade representatives.

If he did any of those things under the guise of a solid employment offer, that was then suddenly rescinded without cause, he is probably owed a settlement.

I don't nessisarily have a fundamental problem with strong Mayor powers. But I feel that in every instance that a mayor feels it nessisary to use those powers, it's incumbent upon that mayor to clearly articulate the rationale directly to the public. In going around the council mechanisms, the mayor is now directly responsible for that decision, and it's up to the electorate to decide the fate of that mayor in the next election. This 'hypothetical' that was floated may give some insight into what happened, but it's not clear enough. My message to all mayor's is: clearly articulate your strong mayor decisions to the public.

We need to return to a time where hard drug use has a stigma attached to it. I think we can all agree that we don't want our children and our family members experimenting with these poisons. And if that's the case - then we need to stop normalizing this behavior. I applaud the government for taking this action.

Trudeau's ego is once again on full display for everyone to see. Instead of doing the honorable thing, allowing Parliament to commence a confidence vote and trigger an immediate election, he's putting the government on pause to give his party some time to put itself in a better position. We need real leadership in Ottawa right now, not a lame duck looking out for his own interests. Shameful.

Carney is a wolf in sheep's clothing. His net zero climate aspirations are well documented. Although curiously, this is not being covered by the mainstream media. The answer to Donald Trump is to open up our resources to the world. We lost 10 years while the past Liberal government did everything they can to obstruct resource development, and now all of a sudden they want us to believe they are up to the task? We need all carbon taxes and levies removed from the Canadian economy so we can prosper. Pierre Poilievre and a new Conservative government is our only hope to turn things around for Canada.

Absolutely, some local investigative journalist should submit a freedom of information request.(HINT, HINT: ORILLIA MATTERS)

The Democrats chose to push Biden through the Presidential nomination race, pretending that he was mentally sharp. It was painfully obvious to everyone that his brain is rapidly aging and he's showing signs of Dementia. Then at the last minute he was swapped with Kamala, the Democrat presidential selectee. She ran on a platform of the typical left leaning identity politics that the electorate is getting tired of.At the end of the day, it's not the business of a foreign media personality to criticise the personal voting intentions of a single American citizen.

I was out in Orillia 3 days after the last snowfall had ended. 72 hours later and there was a huge snow pile on the sidewalk on the Coldwater Rd bridge. Pedestrians were struggling and some were choosing to walk on the road.I know this has come up before, but Orillia needs to elevate its sidewalk clearing. Someone is going to get hurt. Orillia is a snowbelt municipality. There is no excuse why the sidewalks should not be cleared after a snowfall.

As an out-of-towner, parking costs and hastles are a big part of the reason to avoid the downtown of Orillia.

Sure, let's put our faith in the guy who proroged Parliament (again). This time, to benefit the Liberal party while they pick a new leader.
