It all sounds good but.... What happens to all the campaign promises once a politician gets elected? Sorry but I don't believe 90% of the statements coming from anyone running for any political office!
While I do sympathize with small businesses that really need postal services, I imagine that most residents care very little about mail delivery. It's far easier to do everything online. I would think that postal workers would be nervous about their demands, in case they are soon to be permanently unemployed. Sorry but I believe that day will come. Many businesses that we once thought were here for forever, are no more. Just look around.
"WORKING Canadians"? So those who are RETIRED and paying more for rent, more for gtroceries, more for gas, more for tv & phone, more for clothing, etc. and are on a fixed income, don't count? That could cost Trudeau. We vote too! If I'm mistaken, please correct me.
Even though it's clearly against the law, I still see people everyday, letting their dogs run loose while they are taking them for a walk. "My dog needs exercize". "I guess you don't like dogs". "You've never been attached to a pet". Blah, blah, blah. No, it's against the law. Simple.
Is there an island somewhere, way up in northern Canada where sick, old seniors could be shipped? Probably no doctor would want to work there and it might be too far for any visitors. But at least they'll make room for others who need a hospital bed? The people making these mean and heartless decisions will be old someday too, so they should be very careful about what they are potentially creating! It might be their turn sooner than they think.
I wonder if the public will ever learn how the YMCA got into such financial difficulty in the first place. Isn't this something that should be investigated so it isn't repeated? It has to be something more than just poor management! What is it?
Oh my Moxness! I wonder how many other cities have the same situation happening with the Moxness family? The apple rarely falls too far from the tree and it's evident that the Moxness tree has borne fruit. Can't a lawyer be hired to start a class action law suit and stop these two or does this just go on forever? Poor tenants who are in the middle of this mess!
Money well spent! Hopefully, these cameras will soon be everywhere. Too many speeding drivers in this city who experience no consequences for their bad behaviour behind the wheel.
Something doesn't "smell" right. Wouldn't a properly run business be aware that their memberships have dropped significantly. Would they not realize when it's past time to start "selling" memberships? That might be quite important to their operation I would think! I wonder who is responsible for that oversight?
The lights at Queen St. East and Church Street have been irrelevant for years and in my opinion should be eliminated permanently. What do others think? (Let's do our own survery.) :)
It's great that the city is trying to do something to slow down our local speeders. However, tell me which street has no speeders? You cannot sit at a traffic light anywhere in Sault Ste. Marie, without seeing at least one person (sometimes two or three) blow through a red light. If you are driving the speed limit, almost everyone will fly past you. Tailgating continues to be a fun sport for some, until brakes are applied. There is a major problem with our local drivers and until the law is changed and the punishment is very serious (jail time?), it will continue. So many lives are at stake!
Hard to believe that after decades of being reminded to put your trash where it belongs, people still think it's okay to just drop it and let someone else pick it up. For those who don't know, it goes in a garbage can. No garbage can around? Take it home with you! Mommy doesn't pick up after you anymore.
