NDP leaves door open to supporting minority Liberal government budget

Name one thing the Cons have done to increase your quality of life. Or that of any average person. At least the NDP got us Pharmacare and Dental.

You don't know anyone benefitting from the Canadian Child Tax Credit? Really? Weird.

It's funny to see all the Conservatives crying about this budget when we all know that, had PP announced a similar budget, you'd be cheering it on. This is a Conservative budget, literally a budget Harper would have passed. Cuts to public sector employees, reducing immigration numbers, loopholes to keep big oil running - put Pollievres name on it and you would be ecstatic.

If you believe things are better in Alberta, under the thumb of big oil and Maple MAGA, I've got a bridge to sell you.

Concerned about around the clock surveillance? If you own a cell phone, it's already too late. Just quit speeding and making up excuses for it.

Hopefully we can use this meeting to ask Mayor McIsaac exactly how he plans to pay damages in the impending lawsuit that Trevor Lee will (rightfully) proceed with against him. He made this mess and he can pay for it.

Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response? Well, I hope she's more responsive in her role there than she is listening to the concerns of her constituents. We'd all be just as well off without any representation for the amount of good she does for our area.

@nomore, a link to what exactly?? The inside of a Conservative brain?

Ok, but what did you fire the CAO in the first place? We still want that question answered.

I would even pay his gas money to show up.

When I was a poor college student, and couldn't afford garbage tags, I threw all my garbage into public trash cans. If you force people to pay for every bag of garbage they set out, you're going to unfairly place more burdens on lower income households, who most likely don't have the luxury of a garage or she's to store recycling and organic waste, while also placing a bigger burden on city staff who have to deal with overstuffed public trash cans and illegal dumping.

Are you voting in the NDP leadership race? I feel like that's our only other choice. Hoping that Wab Kinew considers running for the federal NDP party one day.

There is only ONE solution to homelessness; providing people with homes. Until the Ontario government provides housing for the unhoused, the cycle will continue. Where do they expect people to go?? I don't like seeing people high on drugs either, but where are they expected to do drugs when they don't have a place of their own? And implementing fines on people who can't even afford to rent a room? This government is a joke.

Nobody is stealing money from anybody. Just don't speed and, like magic, no money is owed

In addition to what MJPA above pointed out, all the oil coming out of the Middle East is also what is contributing to this climate crisis. Dubai is an example to the rest of the world of what NOT to do.

The provincial government is being mob run at this point. I can't believe that Doug was voted in again, I feel like people aren't even paying attention to how crooked his entire cabinet is.

I think they should suggest triple fees for people named Dennis, since we are suggesting arbitrary rules.

It was 100% the contractor that dropped the ball. Hydro One worked darn hard to get everybody's power back on ASAP. And any electrician worth their money would never have suggested switching to an underground service at that time.

We don't need a "working group". Snow removal in Orillia is abysmal. Council needs to do the obvious thing and spend more money on manpower and equipment to deal with the snow. End of story.

Hydro didn't suggest this; their electrician (or, most likely general contractor) did. Every electrician knew Hydro was inundated and this was not the time to be changing things. Also, the cottage owner indicated a 60 to 90 day timeline; that is AFTER Hydro layout has been approved and the original reconnection is completed. Nobody should be blaming Hydro One for any of this. Somebody dropped the ball and that was their "electrician" (general contractor)
