Canadians will head to the polls on April

So, here we are. Trudeau called our last election the most important in our history. Nope. This one is. Do we cow-tow to the failed Liberal agenda once again simply because they replaced the worst PM we ever had, with another fake Canadian, oneout to keep his fellow net zero oligarchs rich and us poorer, that will continue to govern by an ideology as opposed to what is best for the citizens of this country. Carney is a zebra, and they don’t change their stripes. He’s surrounded himself with the same MP’s that voted for and defended several of the destructive policies that Carney now says he’d scrap. It’s still all out here. Liberal MP’s defending the carbon tax for years, the capital gains tax, criticizing the opposition for policies they now say they support. Do we want a government that is always playing from behind on every major crisis, from housing, affordability, opioids and immigration? It’s time for the Liberals to go.

Wow. Pretty rich of Caputo to say that as elected officials “we need to hold ourselves to a higher standard”. Just a few weeks ago, as an elected official, paid for by us, to represent Saultites, she chose to represent her own self interest, and declined to attend a joint council meeting in the Michigan Sault. She didn’t hold herself to higher standard then. She chose to think only of herself. The whole police services board issue is clearly political and the lines drawn between the parties is pretty obvious proof of that.

“Hoath hopes to see more Canadians support businesses in Sault, Michigan”. How about no. Why would we? I stayed away from the US during Trumps first term, and will happily do it again.

ihaveanopinion Your comments lack any factual evidence. You’re just parroting the Liberal talking points Who will we suddenly be reliant on to buy our manufactured goods? Who? It will take decades to build an export market equaling the $420B a year we sell to the US. I truly fear the devastating impacts of abandoning our trade relationship with the US, thinking we can pivot to Asia or the EU, with the snap of our fingers. The true impact has not even begun to be realized. I want the government to do its job. I’m trying to be open minded, and really hard to be optimistic that government is laser focused on building a robust economy, limiting the burden on taxpayers, spending our money efficiently and working to ensure all generations are better off than previous ones. So far I don’t see a single ounce of evidence from Carney that he’s doing any of that.

It’s a change of use issue. Everyone has to follow the rules. Pretty simple really.

It was a good timely speech but so many of the people praising it do so because they are globalists just like him, or are people completely unaware of or unaffected by how unaffordable Canada has become under Liberal rule..Liberal policies Mark Carney advised them on. In the speech, he said he’d increased our defence spending, he hasn’t. He said he’d increased interprovincial trade, he hasn’t. Even the Parliamentary Budget Office has debunked his statement that he’d invest a trillion dollars in our economy, when he’s at 4 percent of that. Many of the things he claimed Canada to be, it isn’t. We don’t even contribute our fair share to NATO, when he said we would. Words matter, actions matter more.

A conservative government would have scrapped the industrial carbon tax, which would be helping Algoma right now.

Ooooooh. Terry issued a “statement”. Relax everybody, crisis averted. His government chased away billions of dollars in investments. Investments that could have required OUR steel. Trump is surely threatened by our useless MP and will remove the tariffs immediately. The Liberals don’t understand a politician out to protect his own citizens and the industries that employ them. Instead of that, we get strongly worded memos from the likes of this guy, the perennial backbencher and clapping seal.

Get ready to see more of this. Sleazy landlords skirting rules intended to keep tenants and neighbours safe. He wants more time to meet with neighbours? Ummm, no. He needs to adhere to the building code and zoning bylaws.

He’s an embarrassment. Another useless NDP. Completely irrelevant as an MP, and even more so now.

Why was she there? A pretty expensive photo op. Wouldn’t take questions because surely they would have been questions about a deal with the US, to eliminate the 50 percent tariffs, for which she has no answer. I remember very clearly during the recent federal election, how Carney promised he would stand tough against Trump, but he has a big fat zero in his win column. The local MP, has his lips sewn shut waiting for instructions and Joly comes all the way here to put on a shiny hard hat and spout her pandering nonsense! Dear god we deserve better.

Oh yes. Make sure you look after what is actually city property or else!!! Dear god, drive around this city and look at all of the city owned, unmaintained grass at intersections and along roadways. It’s disgusting. Long grass, littered with garbage, but the city threatens you with fines if you don’t do it near your property? Despicable. I asked to have the sidewalk in front of my house swept as part of the spring street sweeping, and waited so long I did it myself.

It wasn’t a conflict. Carney folded like a cheap suit. So much for him being the guy to stand up to Trump. Just last week his own Finance Minister praised the DST and promised to implement it, only to bow down to the Orange nut a few days later.

Ah yes. The boogeyman, media needs to get Mark Carney his coveted majority in a sure nap spring election.

Algoma with the Liberals backing them up should argue that buying the iron ore from the US, is a threat to our national security. The same argument Trump is using to impose 50 percent tariffs on our steel.

Are ready? Nope. The Liberal government has been caught flat footed on every single crisis we’ve faced the last decade. Covid. Immigration. Inflation. Chinese interference. And now world trade. We are a resource based economy with an ideological Liberal government that spends more time hectoring other nations about what they supposedly do wrong and not focused on what we’re doing wrong. Carney keeps telling us the world has changed yet they refuse to change. Get the resources that we’re fortunate to have to the people that want them. Stop letting every special interest group stifle our economy. If we don’t, Trumps maniacal erosion of democracy is going to crush us. I don’t ever wanna be an American. I am a flag waving Canadian that wants us to succeed and be accountable for our own future.

It’s embarrassingly ridiculous that Terry is stating “it’s Harper’s fault” for cutting CBSA numbers, when the Liberals had 10 years to correct it, if they saw it being a problem.

He’s “announced” a lot of plans. It’s imperative to keep an open mind, but at some point results need to be seen. As food inflation numbers out today show, the most important part of sustaining human life is becoming ridiculously more expensive by the month. Carney is already sending 12 million Canadians extra money, borrowed money, mind you, to help people feed themselves. This announcement today is yet another that will require billions of dollars to implement without providing any indication where the money will come from. Speeches and announcements show a government trying to project optimism but without tangible results soon, all they are is fodder for a campaign brochure.

I agree, it was a good speech considering the times. But until he puts words into action, what he said is just words. It doesn’t end line ups at food banks. It doesn’t help 1000 steelworkers out of work next month. My grocery bill didn’t go down. He didn’t end the opiod crisis. On a side note, where has Terry been hiding? He’s been quiet as a church mouse, but gets a plug from local media today? What a joke.
25
53
Terry promised to “fight” for steelworkers during the last election. Now that 1000 of them are about to lose their jobs he repeats the same promise. His boss recently said “who cares”, when asked about trade talks with the US. It’s time people realize that Terry can’t help anyone, but himself.
