yes, lets revamp the marina this summer for the festival grounds to attract more people, and then lets start preliminary work for the next phase of pool 6. at the same time lets also put a homeless encampment beside the north entrance of the marina. you cant make this stuff up anymore..

and when the job is done in 3-4 years, there will be 200 layoffs. Unless they get multiple contracts, this plant isn't a long-term career for most people and i think the general public in thunder bay has figured this out.

not to get political, but our governments haven't done a thing about the crazy rising costs for groceries in the past few years. a lot of talk and no action. Costco will save a lot of people money as it is much cheaper than shopping at places like Walmart & superstore.

hold the election. remember when Carney said groceries prices would start to drop after he took office.. hows that going??

Disgusting act. Don't care what the persons issues are, take your dog outside to do that or face the consequences.

except costco is much cheaper than walmart, but I suppose you're rich and enjoy paying a premium for groceries.

huge thumbs down to the lakehead public school board on this one. yes, the business should have probably done their due diligence and reached out in the first place but i'm sure they could have figured out a way to work together on this venture. these were a hot commodity a few years ago, especially at Christmas time. glad my family got their old high school hoodies before this got axed.

not to be that guy, but i find it wild this plant only relies on sole sourced contracts for the past 10 years it seems.

you would think city crews would have been out most of the weekend opening up sewers to drain all this water... what are we waiting for here??

seems promising considering the previous group that ran the mall have pretty much run it into the ground with at times 1/3 of the store fronts being vacant.

Good thing the temporary village will be next to the bylaw office, im sure city staff will love being on the front lines lol

intercity still gets quite a lot of foot traffic during the fall/winter months. considering thunder bay is somewhat of a hub for many northern communities that travel here for medical/sports and supplies, it shouldn't be struggling as much as it does to keep stores. have heard from employees in manager roles for stores in the past say the mall was charging stores a crazy high rent fee to be there. obviously stores need to pay to be there but when you have a bunch of store fronts regularly empty its a bad look.

wish there was a place in town we can drop off our old cans rather than having to drive to the dump to do so... kind of inconvenient

read the article...Hello Kitty, Coca Cola, Marvel, Sesame Street, Disney, Pink Panther and Stranger Things are among the brands sold at Miniso outlets....those brands aren't Canadian.

right, or get rid of the hills like they did to one of the better ones in town previously at chapples.

that was my thought. Im not positive on how much fresh produce Costco carries though, but they have almost everything else. No Frills and Superstore are also less then 5-minute drives from this location in two directions.
