The individual who made the video should absolutely be investigated by both police and the school. At te very least a mischief charge... would this not at least be considered slander??

He shouldn't be shocked. People have been voicing their concerns ever since the shelter was talked about. City council and everyone else involved in setting it up refused to listen. This is not a new complaint.

@concern I was there for the speeches. Nothing in Garry's speech convinced me he was anything more than a parachute candidate. The other two are local and have actually have a vested interest in the riding.

@rwrh I am going to hazard a guess that the house in Ottawa is considered by elections Canada as his primary residence. So yeah, different.

Noone is stopping them from having a prom. They just need to use some common sense in coming up with fundraisers. Lots of things they could do that do not involve guns of any kind. They could even modify this game by using water balloons/etc as already suggested above.

@Dopple Ganger It has been very clearly stated from the get-go that he "owns property" here and does not live here.

@Kaasidey Guns of any kind are not allowed at school. There are no exceptions to that. It is a school board thing. That is not going to change. So, as disappointing as it is for you and your friends, you have a choice. You can continue to pout and argue all over social media or you can be a mature person and accept that these are the rules whether everyone agrees with them or not and come up with an alternative method or different game.

I agree. It would be good to know what the actual numbers were. And if it had to go to 2nd or 3rd ballot to get the majority. Given the number of comments and opinions on his parachuting, I think it was very surprising for many that he won.

They are all checked periodically by surprise inspection. You never know when they are coming (unless they've already been there and given you some things that need to be addressed by a certain date).

@silenteyes, I highly doubt a group of kids would need a business licence to go door to door collecting bottles. A bottle drive is a good idea, just put a notice out on social media/etc that there is a bottle drive and go collecting. Arrange with a parent or a couple parents to use their garage(s) to store until you can deliver to the LCBO/Beer Store.

It has a lot more to do with the fact that parents stick their kids in front of screens rather than outside to play than it does with covid/isolation LOL Get rid of screens. Focus on outdoor activity and imaginative play.

Oh yippee! Yes, I am being sarcastic. Yes, I know it needs to be done. But it will still be a pain to manoeuver during construction, especially for those of us who live on Wallace right in the middle of it all LOL

@coffee_cup considering the royals have only been here in 1951 and 1997, I'm guessing didn't quite happen as you tell it ;)

@Two brothers I made no comment about Carney. I was referring to Keller.
