Scottsdale neighbours say concrete bike lane separators are a 'nightmare'

Unless you live in this area or frequent it, you wouldn't know. Been saying it since they were put in. Still want to know what the cost to taxpayers is to replace one of these concrete blocks everytime someone hits one and breaks it. Terrible idea.

How about more staff to handle the load rather than a 30 year project for a completely new hospital.

People who run this city are incompetent.

Hey, as long as I can still ride my bike in a snow storm, I dont care bout nothin...

Its already been a s show with this winter and bike lanes that a 10 and 33 percent raise would have been the icing on the cake for this clown show. Thank you for showing at least some decency at last.

The people who work for UGDSB should all be fired and start fresh. That school board, and assume many others, are run by people who conspire together in order to keep their jobs and make a good living, while telling the rest of us that this is the best they can do. So many useless people on that board.

Im surprised people aren't mad at this that he can't just be happy with the bike lanes in the dead of winter.

UGDSB is run by incompetent idiots. The city of Guelph is run by the same type. It's a bad scenario for all. How do you be inclusive when you are explicitly exclusive? How?

Its nonsense for a small amount of bicyclists to have this much sway in a city.

Guelph cares more about winter cycling than they do about the Mission or plowing/salt/sanding the roads. Its clear those who run the city are incompetent at best.

I still haven't seen a report on how much more expense goes into maintaining these ridiculous bike lanes with concrete blocks. I was told it was like 150 to 250 to install each block when it was first installed but curious to know how much we have payed to replace all of them that have broken from being hit by cars or picked up by plows. Not to mention cost to drivers who have popped tires and caused damage to cars.

This is exactly why building infrastructure with the assumption that people will do the right thing is the wrong way to go.

This is an insult to tax payers who see what? A 2 or 3% increase every year if you are lucky.

Why is it that public officials can make such great money but make absolutely terrible decisions? Is it the buddy system or is there an actual underlying issue that never gets solved?

I thought we were spending all the money possible on bike lanes to be cleared during blizzards...

This is false to suggest there are no more issues on Scottsdale regarding congestion and curbs. Still waiting on information from the city of how much it has cost so far to replace curbs and maintain these bike lanes.

Ugh the lazy bike lane people strike again. Ot always comes down to bike lanes for people who don't actually work in and around the city and have to visit clients all over Ontario. You know there is more to this world than just Guelph.

Uh oh... removing trees won't sit well with the people in the city who demand access to ride bikes in cleared bike lanes during winter storms...

Its crazy that rich people who never needed OSAP are the ones making decisions about OSAP.
