There used to be a time when streets were named after people who actually did something for the city or contributed in a spectacular or meaningful way.
It's sad to say it but unfortunately the whole city has become an eyesore, dumping ground and a haven for drug consumption. I wish officials could do more but the bureaucrats have their hands tied. Sending them a bill attached to their tax bill does little to punish or stop the problem.
My question is, why wait till July. Come late spring and early summer there isn't a damn line to be found on most roads in town. Most drivers in this town can't seem to drive without them. Some can't or shouldn't be driving at all!
Here's a novel idea, put real cops on the road and start enforcing speeding, noise and other traffic related offenses. What's the point of making a safety zone if noone is around to enforce it.
Bulldoze the two remaining malls. The mall concept is far outdated. Plazas are the new norm. Its been in the cards for many years. Get out of malls while there's still a chance to recoup.
If post secondary institutions would make education more affordable for domestic students they wouldn't have to rely on foreign students and double tuition fees.Post secondary institutions now have more foreign students than Canadian students. What's that say for our post secondary education system. Too costly and too dependent on foreign money to be affordable to Canadian students.
I'll never understand why the Sault has never switched to a grid transit system rather than a hub and spoke style. Doing so would completely eliminate a need for a terminal altogether.
