City is 'rushing through' shelter village process, says councilor

Most taxpaying citizens don't want this. We don't want to pay to house the people stealing from our yards, breaking into our vehicles and making are parks unusable. It's time council actually listened to the people paying the bill.

Regular people suffer because we condone addicts and criminals. Sad that the rest of us have to pay for these people, while at the same time being punished for their actions.

Ford, the Liberal disguised as a conservative. This is a colossal failure, a horrible decision. Just like a liberal.

Most people in my neighborhood stopped recycling, on street parking and no room for the bins. Now they're gonna force it for garbage. Wasn't enough room on the street for recycling bins, as some houses are rentals with several or more bins, those same houses will get several or more garbage bins. You have to leave space in between the bins for the arms to grab it. There isn't enough street to accommodate all the bins, let alone bins AND residential on street parking. I suppose math is hard for the city planners.

Expected. Thunder Bay has been hurdling downhill for a couple decades. I'm sure they'll raise the levy again, citing how great it is to see addicts laying passed out on every block.

Nobody will want to be a landlord, then. Only governments and municipalities will be. Maybe that's all part of their plan.Once you realize they hate you, everything they do makes sense.

Seems like the vasy majority are against this, so why are we still going ahead? Shouldn't council listen to the residents? Time to vote them all out, starting with Brian Hamilton.

Why is there a pedestrian crossing at intercity on Fort William road when there's a crossing for it less than a block away in either direction? Is that good planning?

This administration doesn't care what you think, or want. They just want YOUR money, so they can do what they want. They ALL must be voted out.

Maybe because Port Arthur gets all the tax dollars allocated to it and has way less safety issues than Fort William. Also, if you read, it all culminates in PA at the Auditorium.

How about NO. You're using taxpayer money when the majority of municipal tax payers are against this. What happens if we decided not to pay taxes? If the addicts and bums can legally squat, so can we. Right?

Crazy how much everything got worse since 2015.

Not a single one of these councilors should be reelected. Many have been there for years, overseeing the destruction of our city while continually raising the levy. This agenda is getting pushed through, by them, without consulting the base they so heavily tax. Best we can do is vote them out, but we also need good, logical people to run. If that's you, you should consider running for your ward.

I see more lights being put up when we should be removing them from main arteries. Why is there a light at Wendys on memorial? There really should be no lights at 3 way stops. This city contradicts itself with every other action/comment.

The people who ruin society are the protected class. Actual useful taxpayers, nope. We get to pay to park in parks we already pay for. We get to pay to house the people who break into our vehicles, steal from our yards, and vandalize our homes. Our society has it backwards
No money for kids, but unlimited funds for addicts. Remember when Thunder Bay had clean parks, staffed with activities for kids everywhere? What happened? Well now all those funds go to the addicts who steal, destroy and make out streets and parks unsafe for kids. Why do addicts have more rights than anyone else? We need better leadership at the top, currently we cater to the lowest forms of life while the rest suffer.

"Driveable" is anti green agenda. You're absolutely right about the redundancy of these lights. You pretty put most 3 way lights or lights close together in that group. Our roads are awful, seems less attention is paid to them despite the amount of vehicles in the city drastically increasing over the last 5-7 years. This council continually refuses to listen to people who pay them and fund the city. They seem intent on doing what they want, rather than what we want. Good post.
