Our mayor continues to disappoint! As someone who lives in the area, how about city officials do a better job ensuring garbage and recycling bins are emptied regularly? How often I walk by and they are overflowing with trash. That is not accumulated over one day, or by one specific population. The entitlement of our mayor who clearly has not had to use such resources is appalling. These folks are vulnerable and the city continues to take away and dignity they might have left.

So let me get this straight? This woman was speeding (regardless of how many kms over the limit) in a posted 40km school zone. Has the guts to admit that she is speeding not once but multiple times over the span of 12 days, but it is the cities fault? Speeding is speeding especially in a designated school zone! This entitled behaviour is WILD! Do better....

It is wild to me that we choose a parking spot over housing. So many families can not afford a vehicle, and utilize public transit. There are plenty of apartments/town homes that have one spot and make it work. Sounds like NIMBY to me...

How do you know they were not residents? Did you stop and talk to them and ask where they were from? If so kuddos, I hope you had some nice conversations!

I am wondering why OSMH was awarded funds? The hospital is not a LTCF, and certainly does not promote people staying long term. Seems like there are other facilities who would have benefited more from this.
As a nurse I like that this article focuses on ONLY Registered Nurses *eye roll*. The media is so quick to forget about Registered Practical Nurses. For those who think nurses are well paid, they aren't. You can work as a nurse at any of the local retirement homes and make just above minimum wage. Want to work in LTC, it is maybe $25-$26 an hour. In a hospital is more but take into consideration the acuity, the abuse from both those cognitively impaired and those not, and the fact that nurses are literally keeping you alive.... Want to know why nurses are leaving? Unsafe working ratios, constantly working short, the entitlement of patients (glorified customer service), physical harm from patients, and lack of supports from the higher ups.

Simpletruth you will find some local colleges actually have a BScn program. Georgian College in Barrie owns their own program to become a Registered Nurse. It is not just Universities anymore....
Be mindful that OWLs stands for Orillia WHEELCHAIR limo. It provides transit for those bound in wheelchairs and need specific accessibility. How many Uber vehicles can accomodate a wheelchair?
Dennis Woodman, not every household has a vehicle, your privilege is showing. Driving a car is a luxury not a need. Many folks in the area use public transit, taxis/Ubers, or walk. While it is nice that every unit has a spot, not every person needs one.
