Meet the bagman: the Ontario PC fundraising chief and his developer ties

Reading this was like watching Ghost Hunters. A lot of things are said, but nothing of substance was found.

This is all, in a word, childish. Its already paid for, let consumers decide and then if they wish, the LCBO can donate the money. I get fine bourbon, and charities get their money. Win win, I say.

"We shouldn’t make their access to support contingent on how many business owners say yes.”Tim lets the socialism mask slip to reveal the authoritarianist bent of Orillia council. Tell business owners to shut up when they complain about degenerates running off their customers.

Oh no! Not the Event Planning and Hotel Management programs!!! How ever will our country get by without these ever so important occupations? The OPSEU president gets paid 160k to get highly emotional over programs that don't really provide any value to society at large. Ontario sorely lacks health care professionals, but we'll shed tears for event planners. Isn't everyone tired of this dog and pony show by now?

I would love to see the "housing is a human right" crowd start housing these people in their own homes. Wait, what's that you say?....Oh, the government should pay for it? Maybe I don't want my hard earned money going to projects that get the grifters paid, and do nothing for the underlying problem of drug addiction. Go ahead and hang out on Barrie Rd. at night if you don't agree with me, (and I know most of you won't).

I left Orillia presicely because it is not a safe place to live. Successecive councils have spent more time feeling bad for drug addicts and reprobates, than they have working for ratepayers. That town gets what they vote for every time.

I disagree with the notion that addiction is "not a personal failure" and that society at large is responsible. We take away from these people personal agency and treat them as children when these things are said. I lived in that town from 1998 to 2022. i know a lot of those people. I have interacted with them at the street level. Its very easy to have a bleeding heart attitude when you see it from afar, but I've been up close, and though one would prefer compassionate based care, at what point does our empathy become suicidal?

"Orillia run by fools." is a headline that could be from any one year of its 158 year existence.

Bob is right about one thing, Trump doesn't care about your opinion. You might not like it, but Canada is irrelevant on the international stage. no one is coming to save us from ourselves.

St. Andrews' Hall was a significant part of my childhood. I really hope these buildings can be preserved in some way on their original lots.

I used to support this idea, but then you hear stories of veterans asking for support, and then are offered MAID. Eugenicist Emily Murphy is smiling somewhere.

Look, however you feel about Ford, Carney, PP, or Trump, everyone has to recognize that if you go into the woods and tease the wolves you are likely to get eaten. Antagonizing an easily antagonized figure on purpose is a fundamentally dumb way of conducting diplomacy. The worst part is BC is going to do the same thing Ontario just backed off from. I don't like Carney, but I have to sympathize with him that the premiers seem more bent on collecting anti Trump votes than actually doing anything constructive for the people. 75 mill just to anger Trump, and have it blow up in your face. Great job, guys.

I had the great pleasure to get to know George, as he was one of my favourite customers. A gentleman in every way.o7

Everyone who signed this letter was compensated at Sunshine list levels. They expect the rest of us to keep them in work while the system crumbles and fails our children.

Hey, did any of these businesses turn away American customers as part of this principled stance? I highly doubt it. I am also tired of this "USA bad" nonsense because of who the president is. The truth is, a lot of Americans come here, put their dollars into our economy, and tell their friends and family what a great time they had when they get home. If you do not like a governments policies, that is fine, but this tarring of the entire nation makes us all look small and petty.

Recycling is a scam. About 95 percent of it finds the incinerator.
