Sad to see. Canadians are losing local shops because Liberals' policies drove up costs, turning this city and the rest of the country into the food inflation capital of the G7. With hidden taxes and reckless spending, families are paying more for food. Because so much money goes to the grocery bill, there is less left to spend at local stores. This forces hard-working businesses to close their doors.
Let's be clear—the mine isn't closing because of pricing. It's the result of consistent mismanagement and poor decision-making at the top. This is about leadership failure, not market forces. There are a lot of good, hardworking people at the mine, and it's truly unfortunate for them and the entire community that upper management has run the company into the ground. Their dedication deserves better than this.
