Teachers have left the profession in droves.Hospitals are falling apart.People are building shacks in the bush to support loved ones with addiction and mental health problems. Our province needs real leadership that puts people first, not just corporations, landlords, and private equity firms.

There is evidence we can use to develop some outcomes-based solutions. Switzerland and France apparently have had some success tackling opioid addiction.Paradoxically, the solutions include providing drugs to addicts to destroy the underground market and reduce petty crimes such as theft. Low-barrier safe consumption sites reduce disease transmission and overdose deaths. Housing, healthcare, and other services must also be delivered so that addicts can remain as healthy as possible, recover, and reintegrate into the community and workplace. As much as "lock them up" sounds nice. We really have to focus on real outcomes.

A new local, I'm not sure that Pierre, I lifelong bureaucrat who has achieved nothing, is any more relatable that an incredibly intelligent, accomplished economist who recently delivered one of the most important and profound speeches of recent memory and has implemented some significant policy changes that will have significant impacts on Canadian society. But speaking of dodging questions, wasn't it under Pierre's policy that conservative MPs refused to even talk to press during the most recent election, leading to some significant losses, including in our own district?

I would view this as more of a silver lining type of thing. It can be both bad that people are losing jobs and good that our air quality will be better. As to Larry Evans point, the plant actually does pay for funerals. I know of a number of people who have died from cancer or other lung-related issues that the plant took responsibility for and did indeed pay for the funerals. The more you know!

Ontario's public institutions must remain transparent. Just like we can go look at the budget and minutes of any college or other public organization in Ontario, so must we be able to audit the actions of our government. This is crazy. This is not Canada.

Apparently, we have more than 5000 internationally trained doctors in Ontario and Quebec that can't practice medicine due to a number of barriers. Maybe we should make it easier to get them working. This seems like an emergency.

This is amazing news. I truly do hope our community can become a leader is supporting the health of children. We have so much need.Currently, even as an engaged parent and strong advocate, it is very difficult to navigate health care and education, let alone receive timely and meaningful supports.I can only imagine how difficult it is for families dealing with poverty, mental health, or addictions issues. Our kids need help.

I guess this is true, and a lot of studies are pointing out the negative effects of social media on children, but you also need to acknowledge the bigger picture.Poverty. Healthcare. Education. Employment. Housing. Addictions. Our community has so many big issues to tackle.

MPP Scott talked about activating "Power Centres" to help affected workers retrain for employment. Instead of funnelling money into new training providers, how about we activate our local college that already has the infrastructure to effectively retrain laid off workers? Or Maybe we can just give all this provincial money to another strip club owner.
