COLUMN: Feeling the slow burn of a speeding ticket due to cameras

Yeah, and those Stop signs, Mark. So annoying. Why can't we just ignore them if we're on an important life-or-death mission like buying milk. And don't get me going over crosswalks! Pedestrians should be the ones who look out. It takso much time to slow a car. A person can stop walking in a second.Yeah, tongue in cheek, but in fact, Canadians have become addicted to driving too fast. The maximum posted limit has become a suggested minimum. I have no problem setting ny cruise control at 58km/hrs in a 60. Arguments against the cameras, which are simply enforcing THE LAW are sad and pathetic.

Gotta love City Hall bureaucrats who have no idea about live theatre. Why not save more money and just show vintage movies all summer? That wood save money! Hey, even better, why not fire a couple of these Culture Department bureaucrats and save even more! The loss of Orillia's own summer theatre productions hits the community beyond the ticket office. But why would we expect a bunch of pencil scratchers to understand that! They're at home watching Netflix! So sad!

Should one be allowed to select the laws that are to be obeyed. How about shoplifting in Dollarama? What's wrong with occassionally sneaking a few extra items out of the store under a jacket. Hey, it's only a few bucks, but why should one be forced to pay just because the law days its stealing? Not fair!Get a grip, speedsters. Set your cruise controls to the speed limit. That's the button right next to the seat massage control on your F-150 5200 super-duper monster pickup. Let the electronics do your thinking for you.Or join Speedsters Anonomous ... they meet every other Wednesday... and talk out your speeding addiction/refusal to obeys laws you don't like with others who share your world view.Sheeesssh!
