In terms of process or honesty, I just don't see how councillors King and Mayne can be in the wrong in this dispute. I also strongly doubt the integrity validity of Choric's argument against Lowery. Looks to me that council will continue to be largely dysfunctional until Chirico is no longer Mayor.
Ford wasn't arrested for threatening violence. How come the criminal code doesn't apply to politicians? Peter Chirico still hasn't been arrested and charged for theft.
It's an unfair question that reminds of a question that Stephen Colbert kept on putting to the audience and various guests quite a few years ago. He asked: Do you think George W. Bush is the best president ever or one of the best presidents ever?Stephen Colbert is a comedian, but what's the excuse for the City of North Bay? Why didn't they ask if people want to leave the Downtown Waterfront as it is? No respect for democracy.
Mike Harris did a lot to undermine conservation authorities to make them dysfunctional, and now the Ford administration is all set to finish the destruction. Fedeli's act at being shocked should get him an Oscar. The weaker the Conservation Authorities become, it makes it easier for Ford's developer buddies to build in such a way as to destroy the environment while putting the burden on future taxpayers to pay for fixing his mess. Bear in mind that the future starts tomorrow/
The impression I get is that Peter Chirico (and perhaps others) are deliberately trying to sabotage the North Bay and Mattawa Conservation Authority in order to argue that it must be privatized. I've already written to Michelle Lahaye to tell her this honest observation of mine.
If I'm understanding this correctly, Peter Chirico is trying to create the impression that the main in-camera or behind closed doors session in question was never about him. I believe it was. If that's correct then he's trying to ensure that the secrecy, lack of transparency and bad behaviour in the form of deception is still going on. That leaves plenty of reason to not trust the mayor or those who sought to shield him from accountability.
I back the general direction of what you're saying, but I believe that the police should step in to investigate rather than the provincial government, because it looks like a criminal matter to me.
Telling lies to get around inconvenient rules, can and often does, work out well for the one telling the lies. But it works out badly for everyone else and inevitably leads to faulty laws, rules or regulations to be written. I'm not impressed at your suggestion.
So, politicians are allowed to steal and are immune from prosecution under the criminal code. Does that mean the cops see it as a criminal offence when a member of the public makes a criminal complaint/s against a politician/s?That might sound tongue in cheek, but I've found that the cops will arrest the complainant under bogus charges.
