I disagree. The truth should come out, but that's unlikely to happen due to Ford restricting freedom of information. The idea that the truth will come out is wishful thinking.
In terms of process or honesty, I just don't see how councillors King and Mayne can be in the wrong in this dispute. I also strongly doubt the integrity validity of Choric's argument against Lowery. Looks to me that council will continue to be largely dysfunctional until Chirico is no longer Mayor.
Ford wasn't arrested for threatening violence. How come the criminal code doesn't apply to politicians? Peter Chirico still hasn't been arrested and charged for theft.
The change I'd like to see: The cops criminally charging Peter Chirico and him standing trial. It's criminal matter and therefore it's out-with Council's purview.
It's an unfair question that reminds of a question that Stephen Colbert kept on putting to the audience and various guests quite a few years ago. He asked: Do you think George W. Bush is the best president ever or one of the best presidents ever?Stephen Colbert is a comedian, but what's the excuse for the City of North Bay? Why didn't they ask if people want to leave the Downtown Waterfront as it is? No respect for democracy.
The idea that the sort underhand stuff Chirico did is supposedly common in private enterprise, does not make the situation any better. I'm sure that some private sector companies do that sort of thing often, but that's no reason to copy bad behaviour. The impression I get is that some staff at city hall are still covering up the details. Let's try to get rid of corruption and dishonesty at city hall instead of making excuses for it.
Mike Harris did a lot to undermine conservation authorities to make them dysfunctional, and now the Ford administration is all set to finish the destruction. Fedeli's act at being shocked should get him an Oscar. The weaker the Conservation Authorities become, it makes it easier for Ford's developer buddies to build in such a way as to destroy the environment while putting the burden on future taxpayers to pay for fixing his mess. Bear in mind that the future starts tomorrow/
