This is me sitting here not shocked our city manager wants to make comments behind closed doors to avoid any kind of public accountability.

Yes they did expect the scrutiny. Your published comments by Jen Higham support. She cites social media scrutiny as being a reason council needs raises. Thank goodbess for public accountability. I also want to state if someone needs to fear social media backlash, a public seat isn't the space for them!

While I empathize with Susan and am an advocate for wage parity, many employers have conflict contracts that don't allow multiple employers, and council is a job. Just because those extra hours were to put towards council to fill her time, this do not equate to her being 'paid less', it just means she didn't have two incomes. We have many community members that will never touch the wealth of her family and this comment was extremely out of touch with the majority of the community.

I think the only question that needs to be asked here is why are we taking advantage of people who require medical support?

It's more critical now than ever to support our local businesses VS congloms. What I would love to see is the Citizen do some articles highlighting the amazing local operations we have.Nest and SproutMadison Ave FashionsSimply BeautifulPlus more (hopefully some other commenters can share their favorite locals too). If you own a small building consider renting to locals and not congloms. Your future markets will thank you for keeping the dollars local.

Where is Jeff Bezos telling us to not tax people in this class (so they can spend more at Amazon rather than support their local markets). We also don't have an affordability crisis, we have a spending crisis.

This is a board, not administration and we need to really understand the difference here before we start talking about money.

This rezoning was not actually discussed until after the third reading was past. In fact, the city did not discuss thus whatsoever in the September council meeting as this followed Crossroads owners plea to the city and it was clearly evident they didn't ask ANY questions to administrator. Nevermind that Ms. Sinclair is 'does not have the time or mental space' to reply to a journalist a) how does she handle parental and northern health concerns, and b) is that why she didn't post the required by bylaw signage to notify the neighbors of her intention? Just because the OCP allows it, doesn't mean we have to do it. Especially with two other more appropriate locations asking got rezoning in the same space. Not sure why residents are being asked to pay for the lacking diligence from the city and the applicant.

Incorrect. People don't make better choices unless sociological systems teach them instead of ostracizing them. If you choose not to break bread with him, you are part of how he ended up here. So are you responsible for yours?

So we went from $4000 per camera to $12500 since the pilot project began? Yikes. Who's actually managing our money here?

I largely agree with where you are coming from. The fat needs to be cut from administration and internal processes need to be managed to save money and prevent yearly 6% tax increases.

You have babicz to thank for that. Time to get some budget pushers s through the door.

Whistleblowers should not have internal reporting in a city like PG. If you have read the former whistleblower policy, it's self protective, and the timing of its creation in city hall is also. Now the question really becomes... Who is Babicz trying to protect this time?

Just curious when Cedarcore met with council previously seeing as they were encorporated Jan 6, 2026. Who owns it? If you aren't willing to tell residents, we don't need this here.

So basically rhe vendor is saying they can't manage process and are asking the public to pay. It's interesting that such things were not factored into the usage contract.Additionally, having VIP parking closer than accessible parking is a highly questionable practice under the accessible BC act and can't believe that is in any way acceptable practice.

Agreed. If we really looked at that. Then I want the wages to be factored on the populations managed. Apples to apples that means wages for everyone would probably decrease.

This is one of the main concerns of the residents of the street. Under the rezoning bylaw the facility needs to have nine off street parking spaces to accomodate staff and attendees. In the winter the road becomes extremely narrow and is a P3 plow route which means it is often a mess. In fact, on neighbor with a bobcat often maintains it himself due to the lacking diligence.

We should be DEMANDING BC Assessment be moved out of City Hall.BC Assessment needs complete transparency. Ever tried to dispute an increase? They can't even tell you what values are based off or the radius used to determine values. So I'd be interested to see the actual data.

I want to see all properties have to have a hydrological survey done to determine costs if this were to proceed.

Please please post the comparison chart. I don't even need to see it to know its been fluffed to pull the wool ovet residents eyes.
