She seems far more in touch than our current tone-deaf mayor, whose rash actions caused all of this unnecessary expense and drama.

Maybe it just proves that highways need speed cameras too

It didn't sound like they were talking about stormy weather, simply normal winter here in the snow belt. Surely you're not suggesting that everyone stay home all winter. Many people live alone and need connection throughout the cold season as well as when the weather is nicer.

Them being found in contempt over this issue makes me question even more their treatment of councilor Sherri Bell. This is certainly a bad look for council.

Not a good candidate in my opinion. He is all about photo ops and is super conservative leaning, not a recipe for trust as far as I'm concerned.

That's exactly what I was going to write. It always used to be six before some developer paid to have it raised to eight. Now sixteen is ludicrous.

Some of the larger raises were more than many people's annual incomes. Very hard to see when so many are struggling so much.

Reported is the keyword. I know several people who have been hit while walking. Drivers have to be more careful, and if this helps then I'm all for it.

We need to remove strong mayor power too, it's such a disgrace

We shouldn't have strong mayor power anymore

Keep the name Brian Orser Arena please. What a boring, corporate name "they" choose instead. Why is the sign already made, if there's still contention about the name? Where were the public polls on the name change posted?

It's called the Gill Street Community Complex in the article

Apparently every conservative voted with Ford unfortunately

Well put, and I agree. When we are warned to stay off the roads it's for the safely of the community. Why is it so hard for so many people to stay home when it really is what's best for us?

This is very impressive, a big congratulations to Pam!!

This is not the kind of behavior I want to hear about from our politicians. The premier of Ontario should be ashamed for condoning violence and uttering threats of assault and battery. Yes crime is terrible, but vigilante justice is not the way to solve it. If anyone else said these things they would immediately have charged pressed against them, but he actually seems proud of himself. Honestly it's very disturbing to me. But what do I expect from the man who said that the VERY effective speeding cameras are a cash grab and he's going to outlaw them? The week after he said that his people are anonymously outed as being among the worst excessive speeders, regularly achieving stunt driving speeds without any real consequences. As far as I'm concerned this man we call Premier is a bully who lives by double standards. No thank you, someone please tell him that this juvenile threat to "beat to a pulp" a shoplifter is absolutely inexcusable.
@what: I do not want to go hiking on land that is shared with hunters, even wearing bright orange.
If the mayor's husband "had to" show up to defend her with intimidation tactics, then there seems to be a problem.
