Council's bike lane flip flop costs us more than you think

Let’s be honest, the sunshine list is a joke. $100k a year for a senior level role is bare minimum these days. If you want to keep this ridiculous list, at least update the number.

The traffic now is horrendous. A ten story building will just be chaos.

Why? I’m not a soccer fan but an event that brings people together instead of dividing people is a good thing. FIFA is not exactly a beacon of sportsmanship but it is truly a global event. Of course there will be the inevitable greed for certain factions of society but celebrate the competition and passion.

Wow the racism in Canada grows every day. Sad really since we are all immigrants or descendants of immigrants. The current US culture has had an effect north of the border or maybe like them, racism has always been here just not in fashion.

Please tell me who these days gets a 30% increase?

You have to have a willing partner to negotiate with. Trump is no such individual.

We need to find solutions to this ongoing problem as there are far too many people in this circumstance however we also cannot just have people staking claim to public lands and setting up camp. It is no doubt a difficult problem to solve but perhaps different groups can work together to come to a solution as this problem isn't going away. We also cannot have solutions that cost hundreds of thousands to implement and maintain.

Decisions should always be made based on actual data not complaints. now it appears they are placing traffic calming in the bike lanes we paid so much money to have and plough. Wow.

My wife and I got hooked but have cut back significantly. We now pick up ourselves or look for restaurants that still deliver for themselves. The services have increased prices and increasing poor service. I prefer restaurants to know me as a customer.

The idea in principle was good however was there even a problem before hand? Lets see the data and if you want to "protect" the kids then ticket the driver, not the vehicle! That could help change behaviour, not a summons, 3-4 weeks later! The snake oil salesperson was great. Wish they worked for me!

Why does this area continue to only see pizzerias, shawarma joints and Italian restaurants. A huge percent of Guelph's population is Italian and those Nonnas can produce just as good if not better dinners. We get the chains that stay for a couple years then get replaced by a new banner! Love to see a sit down Thai or authentic Chinese restaurant. A great steak/chop house or even a proper seafood restaurant. Nothing against the pizza/Italian folks!

Should these decisions have not always been made based on data rather than complaints? A few loud voices should not be the reason for making decisions for all.
