This multi billion dollar money pit needs to end.The government should shut it down and privatize it. Start from scratch. Top down to the boots on the ground. It needs to be streamlined and made cost efficient.Mark my words, this time next year, we'll be hearing how the taxpayers are on the hook for another $2+ billion in losses
Canada has erased too much of her past to appease the feelings of others. We've destroyed our traditions. Modified and erased far too much of our heritage and past. The King is a proud part of our past, present and future. The Commonwealth is more than a symbol.
Just got back from 2 weeks in Florida.28C and sunny. 16C at night. Kind and welcoming, they love us Canucks. The border crossing was great. Both ways. Next winter we've secured a home just off the Space Coast for an entire month. Screened pool and garage. ($3,300 CAD)Believe me, palm trees and the surf isn't boring.
It IS part of the game to boo a bad or missed call. It's part of the game to cheer too.Anyone who steps over the line with crude language, threats, insults or intimidation should be shown the door
You are 100% right Life!Parents invest a lot of time and money to give their children a chance to participate & enjoy our national sport.Too often shoddy officiating & league operating staff are incompetent. The game quality suffers as well as the enjoyment by the kids.I have volunteered as a coach and refereed as a teen. I can tell you the inside politics by conveners and favouritism to specific coaches & teams happens too. Houseleague is supposed to be fun. Instead there are stacked teams, ice time shenanigans & special treatment to the "volunteer organizers" clubs. The frustration and voicing displeasure, even at poor officiating, is labelled as bullying parents or bad behaviour. All we wanted is a fair & fun experience we paid for.
Soowat, the irony you're responding on a computer or phone that has 99% of the components manufactured overseas. Your tv set is also not made here. But, hey, you got the cash to waste on Maple Washed products. Let us guess, you have a bottle of Canadian Orange Juice in your fridge?
Lastman made the right call using the army to remove snow. The city was paralyzed by a rapid dumping of a record snowfall. Using troops, that were sitting back, getting paid, and ready to do something, was the right move.Laugh all you want. It was the right move at the right time.
Well said! This is gaslighting at it's finestOut of control property taxes and waste water bill charges are forcing those on fixed incomes into a crisis
Yes we do.It's more than just a family. It's our King and our history. If you're willing to stand for a land acknowledgement for people you don't know, then you can stand for your King.
One open net. One great save off Hellebuyck's stick. A blown 5-on-3 power play.Canada did it to itself. Now those multimillionaire pros can leave their private hotel tomorrow and jet back to their mansions with the silver medals they were awarded
NoThe manufacturer tags the products. Stores don't have access to those clipsI do believe that they're making an inferior product compared to years ago. That could be the reason why the stuff goes stale faster.Of course, it's likely made this way on purpose so we'll toss out the loaf before it's consumed. Then we gleefully go back to the store for another one
28C with a nice breeze. Cool and refreshing 16C at night. Palm trees & sandy beaches. I wear my shorts and a T shirt all day. Flip-flops 24/7.Unique beers & liquor the LCBO won't let us buy up hereVS-25C daytime and below -35C at night. Shovelling every other day and dressing like an astronaut. Scraping the car off & wondering when it will ever end?Yeah, glad you like the winter.
Canada has become both an economic and military laughingstock of the world. No matter how you you try and make up false claims of being a 'middle power' nation. We've slipped and it's noticeable if you pay attention to the news outside the CBC
Hockey equipment IS affordable.Your kid doesn't need a $300 stick every year. You can purchase mid grade new skates at Sportcheck and they'll offer you $100 trade in on the next pair.Purchase your equipment a slight size up. A helmet and cage will last 3 seasons. Pants 2-3. Shin guards same. Chest protector can last 3. Elbow pads nearly 4. Jock is 3 at least.Parents feel they have to buy new stuff every season. Best of the best. - A little planning and proper sizing can have you rotate in new and old stuff with minimal budget hits
