Perhaps, housing, or at the very least the city providing sufficient ability for garbage disposal at encampments would help. And if only there were places where people could be safe, inside to consume drugs and dispose of harm reduction supplies
By laws workaround for having to store belongings as the public space by law states are these excuses. How are people supposed to exist and get anywhere when this is how hard every day of your life is?And tents? Who is going to pay for another tent donation? Our city supports (which is not the county who is supposed to be helping) are not indefinite and then they have absolutely no where to go and no where to sleep. So disturbing and cruel that this is what our community thinks is okay
I totally agreeBusinesses like Aqua and Valentini have been pretty vocal in not wanting the RCM there or caring where folks do go. It’s pretty clear Cam cares more about folks like that than he does if people are safe and warm, very Christian of him.The RCM needs funded, they do amazing work and what the city has done is disgraceful, RCM deserves an apology for sure.If you look on social media the city had not planned for anywhere for people to go on new years dayand it was organizations that came together to care for folks while the city did absolutely nothing, then the city does that after RCM and others step up.
You’re saying the same dgba that campaigns to get vulnerable people with no where to go anywhere they’re not are paying people to promote their events? Shocking The whole market is disgusting, they build heated shelters for vendors while doing anything but help our unhoused folks including pushing to remove services that help. Why are our tax dollars going to push tone deaf, compassion void nonsense while taking supports away from people who need it.The dgba should be ashamed of themselves, I know I am.
