It is unbelievable that people are allowed to buy up secondary property and then use it as income. So much for sharing and being good to your neighbour.I suppose we all pay the price at the end of the trial run.

The government should sharply increase tax on people's non-residence properties immediately. This whole rental / landlord scheme is getting out of hand. Rich preying on the vulnerable.

Landlords are stealing the ability to own a home and have a normal life for a lot of people.Housing crisis is about pure greed.

Share the wealth! Don't capitalize so much on your neighbours. Donate some of that extra away instead and help people, you already have more than you need.

I wish we all still lived in those boomer days when nobody needed to rent because buying a house was possible for everyone. Given all the opportunity back then, you have to wonder why someone would even need to rent. Nowadays landlords own everything and people have to pay to exist.

The city should be giving this place millions every year because it's actually making a difference and guiding youth towards a brighter future.

Probably just another unreported chemical spill. Let's get a lithium refinery guys!

I'm sure the whole town will be there for only $125/person.Maybe the government should tax rich people more.

Tax funded projects and rental/hotel projects.I sure hope the city is planning on upping the taxes for landlords seeing as how that's the only new revenue streams.Triple the building taxes on people or corporations that own a secondary home/residence/rental. They can afford it while they leech off the rest of us.

Reduce the speed limit to 70km. Make it 50km in the winter. Takes longer but nobody dies... The amount of time saved avoiding road closures would make up for the speed reduction.

Imaginary tax dollars propping up economic outlook. Take those away and it's not looking good at all. Definitely into the red and negatives.Another great Christmas and year after borrowing from the central bank again!Smiles all around...

It is time for the government to start heavily taxing people or corporations that own more than one home. Children and future generations deserve a chance at home ownership instead of rentals from landlords. Heavily tax the profits landlords receive, based on their profit margins. Most of them will sell and saturate the market leading to lower costs for future generations. The government should be creating housebuilders right at the high school / college level and seriously incentivizing the next generation of builders with subsidies. Houses for sale... not houses for rental profits. Too bad most the government officials are landlords themselves. They don't want to lower the cost of housing...It should be illegal to own secondary property and to profit off of someone else's basic necessity. Maybe make minimum wage illegal too, or raise it by 50%.

lol. Methyl mercaptan gas created by dissolving wood pulp in acid builds up as a non condensable gas inside the kilns, so the mill burns it and blows it out the stack. Highly toxic and bad stuff for living organisms...I guess a nice downwind kept it all on the ground for us to breathe and enjoy.Did some of their systems "environmental systems" fail? I guess we'll never know. This is the exact reason why nobody should want a lithium refinery or even a mine to exist nowadays. Environmental talk is cheap and then reality plays out.

Technically it was a gas leak... from the mill.

Those corporations sure have everyone confused and attacking each other about reality. What could go wrong in a world run on corporate profits.Classic divide and conquer. Nobody even sees the real enemy.

More like tax the lazy landlords buying up all the property and raising the prices of houses. Double minimum wage too, so the hardworking majority of society can afford a house. There are jobs out there paying almost the same amount as they did 30 years ago... It isn't boomer town any more where a cheap house is 50k. The people at the top should be sacrificing.
